I really sensed this was coming,  Kent is a friend of mine and is our State Senator.  Ron Paul has been a long time supporter of Kent's campaign here in Warren and Madison Counties and did a fund raiser for Kent two years ago.... Which is why I was surprised that Kent was Michelle Bachmann's state co-chair in the first place.  I have a feeling that Michelle is just about out of money and the "tea leaves" are lining up for Michelle Bachmann to throw in the "hat" and seek to be the running mate of Santorum or head back to Minnesota.

Now that Santorum is surging, because of his hard work in being in all 99 counties at least twice, he will be the third place finisher in Iowa.

In other news, Iran is threatening to shut down the Strait to all oil tankers, which will raise gas over a buck a gallon, short term, or force obama to back down and have to remove the sanctions that are in place, which will make him look weak.

These developments will scare those thinking about supporting Ron Paul (including myself) into supporting Santorum.

Next Tuesday will be very interesting, indeed.  Whoever wins in South Carolina will end up being the nominee.

Hey Craig, I think no one has been more surprised over Paul`s popularity than Paul himself.  To be deeply honest I don`t think Paul stands a chance, however it gets the message out and gives one hope that not everyone is brain dead.   Michele`s handicap is that she`s a petite Lady and no matter how tough and sharp she is it`s hard to compete against a presidential looking 6`-2" mop and choppers Mit Romney...90% of communication is non-verbal.  I`d love to see Ann Barnhardt up there   One guy that plum run out of gas is Perry, he sends me a flyer everyday, one day I kid you not, I got 3 fliers all in my name.  If Perry, Michele drop out and soon after Newt it`ll come down to Mit, Paul and Santorum.  Mitt`ll probaby get it but he`ll know he`ll have to tow the Conservative line, he can`t win without us.

One thing with Michelle Bachmann.  She works hard on how she says things and not so much on what she says.  She kind of lost it with me with her third or fourth mis-speak about how she was glad to be in Dordt County..... she was at Dordt College..... there is no Dordt County in Iowa.   She is fine for the U.S. Congress, maybe as a Vice-President, but not in the hot seat.

Perry, same thing.  

Santorum did it the old fashioned way, by shaking the hand of every Republican in the State of Iowa and by staying on message.

If this Iran thing starts to blow up, Ron Paul will fade faster than Newt did.

I wish that I could blend the best parts of several of them into one super candidate.  Romney's good looks, with the steadfast conviction of following the Constitution on fiscal matters of Ron Paul, the historical grasp of thoughtful solutions of Newt Gingrich..... sounds a lot like Santorum when you think about it.

The next few days will say a lot about how the election will turn out.

Santorum may have shook every hand in Iowa twice but he never will win the presidency. In fact he got humiliated in his last senate run in his own state.

The Iran thing shouldn't blow up no matter who is president. We have no business intruding in their internal affairs. Paul is right that we should be involved militarily over there and we should impose sanctions which in itself is an acto war. How would we react if we had sanctions imposed against us.

Kent sorenson is merely abandoning a sinking ship. Why not jump to another conservative that is seemingly growing in political support.

I watched the Jan Mickelson show on cspan this moprning and had indep[th conversations with both Bachman and Paul. There is no doubt one is building support and the other is being abandoned. She will be cast aside and I doubt she can find support to move on to New Hampshire. I think the faithful Paul followers will keep sending checks to keep him in the running if only as an independent. Paul is reaching the age where it is either now or never and I predict he will run as an independent if not as a republican. Perhaps as a libertarian.

I still like Paul but can't vote for him.
