This election marks the first presidential election in 80 years where none of the 4 candidates (2 presidential and 2 VP) are veterans. 

Please explain how Romney's avoiding the draft makes him a coward while Biden's 5 student deferments between 1963 and 1968 (The height of the Vietnam War) don't make Biden a coward?

How much coolaid tdo you drink..........the country was at war and he choose to "avoid"  the draft  cause I hate to tell you people die in wars  and he wasn't about to be one.   His sons didn't step up to war on terror either I guess they felt that  asking those in service to do several tour was ok.  As far as Biden he had college deferments that ended at height of Vietnam but was taken off SSS list do to asthma. .     I believe if you enjoy all this country has to offer then stepping in war time is a patriotaic duty  over 58000 in Nam paid the price while  mitt was enjoying Paris.    Now tell me what would call him ....thats before you drink your coolaid

I don't support Romney because he is a big government liberal. That he didn't serve doesn't matter to me. How will he use the military is what is important. Just is how has Obama used the military and how will he use it when he has the flexability of not facing an election is important.

I call Romney the same as I would Biden and many others during that time.   They were people that did not want to go off to war and did what ever they could to keep from going.  

Hobby, you say Romney "avoided" the draft.   I'll not argue that but please explain to me how Biden did not also "avoid" the draft?

Does Biden's avoiding the draft also bring into question his "integrity, patriotism  and responsibility to country"?  Or is this yet another case of double standards depending on which party the guy is from?

Biden got 5 student deferments while going to college.  Evidently student deferments were not based on grades as Biden was a below average student that got caught having plagiarized 5 of 15 pages of a law review article.

You are comparing apples to oranges when you bring up Romney's son's not serving in the military.  There is no draft now as there was when Romney and Biden out of serving. 

Hobby, do you have children or grandchildren that are the proper age to be serving in the military?   If so are all of them in the military?  Have you encouraged them all to join up?

I have three children that are in their early to mid-twenties and would never encourage them to join the military now.   These days I see our army being sent into too many countries and fighting and dying for what I believe are unjust causes.

Daggy,  What  Biddens grades were had nothing to do with his draft status. and wether he served .the fact jis upon he graduating he lost  deferment  and became legiable for draft.  His number must have been called but asthma disqualied him.         This totaly different than Romeny avoiding the draft and its no defence of Biden just  a  fact.    As  far as Romeny sons are concerned draft or no draft they must feel much like daddy other people must serve and possible die for the country but not me.   I have a real problem with people who enjoy the fruits this country provide  but when it comes to war whether they consider them right ot wrong they stand on side lines.  As far as family goes I have no one age wise.  I had uncles in WW2 ,my brother served durinfg Koea conflct,  I spent almost  12 mo in Nam   We are very lucky thank the lord to have a Military bulit on men who will serve in conflicts they agree or disagree with.   Maybe we need a draft with no disqualifitions other than health where everyone must serve isn;t that our great ally Isreal requires.   Do you agree with one of romens dumb statement  "if daddy and yourself can afford college than join the military  and serve, if you make home out side a bodybag we will give you a free education"   This is the height of arrogance spoken by  the wealthy side of socity    There is patrotism them there is different form of  patriotism .
