Re: Liberal AND Christian?

Probably will be her stock answer when she becomes the

democratic nominee, and the philandering stories of Bill

get unleashed before the general election....you know,

the ones that are being kept bottled up for now , waiting

to be used at an opportune time.

Just like the ones that the democrats are holding on Mr.

Donald Trump, and the ones that Chris Matthews is

dreaming up about Melania.....what a creep.

Re: Liberal AND Christian?

Would that be 1st or 2nd Thessalonians 3:10?  You do know there are 2 of those books, right?  Here is the entire context of that verse.  He was talking about his own disciples and others of His following.

2 Thessalonians 3:10 Context

7For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you; 8Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you: 9Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us. 10For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat. 11For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies. 12Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread. 13But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

Re: Photo shopped pic

So that phot shopped picture of Al Gore was supposed to point us to the new record temperatures set for the month of April?

How many months in a row have we set new records now?

http://www.cbc.ca/news/technology/temperature-monthly-records-1.3584249

Or is it looking at the record heat wave in India

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/india/11636124/Indias-extreme-heat-wave-in-pictures.h...

Or the drought in Africa

http://www.theguardian.com/environment/2016/mar/16/drought-high-temperatures-el-nino-36m-people-afri...

Or maybe it was to indicate all of those stories pointing to the truth of what Al Gore was telling us.

Re: Liberal AND Christian?

Freedom of religion means just that, it doesn`t mean "freedom from religion" as a Canuck would lead you to believe.  I`m not a big one in "public prayers", more often than not if a schlabbabil is up invoking the "name of Jesus", I`m disagreeing with half of what I`m bowing my head to, the one giving the prayer is just puffing himself up.

If a town celebrates Christmas and a Nativity scene is on the courthouse lawn, I see not a thing wrong with that and this is coming from me that believes Jesus was conceived on Christmas and born in September.  But how boring would we be if we were sticklers and bland and towns didn`t celebrate traditional holidays (even if they get the dates wrong occasionally  Smiley Happy  )

If a soldier served his country and when he or she dies and the family wants a cross on the grave, I have zero problem with my tax money going to put a Cross or Star of David on their grave.

My point is, this country was a more moral decent place before these alledged "rightwingers" put "in God we trust" on the money.  I don`t think God wants any association with out filthy lucre and corrupt fiat money system.  And before "under God" was put in the Pledge of Alligence...I don`t think God would want to be involved in the unjust wars, pornography and illegal drug capital of the world.  How that would make us "one nation under God" is beyond me.   Rev Wright was probably halfway right on some of his rhetoric, he just was preaching the wrong lesson from it.

But this country that supposed 'Godless" people founded, well these small towns around here celebrate their sesquincentennial, 150 years more or less they have been incorporated.  They settled near rivers for water to water horses and run a grist mill, stores houses sprung up...AND Churches!  The Churches also celebrate their sesquicentennial within years of the town.  Those churches were built and rebuild as the congregation got bigger and standing room only.   now a few of those churches have had to close, their membership dropped and the start of their dropped about the time that "under God" was in the pledge and "In God we trust" on filthy lucre.

I think people felt that was "enough of a tribute to God'  kind of like those that wear a bicycle helmet are more prone to ride dangerously and take more risks.
