Listen to this clip
and then tell me...who is the "Whacko Bird", Ted Cruz or Machine Gun McCain?
And an added bonus for Shifty, you get to look at that beautiful Candy Crowley.
This is my first contact with Ted Cruz, and I have to say that I am quite impressed.
I did read earlier that he said that Barry and Kerry might want to think about who they are working for, and consult the US COngress rather than the UN about Syria action, and that Cruz says not to do it.
Kudos, Ted.

Exact quote on Syria:
"Secretary Kerry and the president have said they want to go to the United Nations for approval, How about going to the United States Congress?"

The Cruzer might want to check with his own party...
Quite a list of neconservatives and right winged idealogues signed on to this (which I found BTW by following a link at the Examiner site you put up):

Re: The Cruzer might want to check with his own party...
Bruce, virtually every insider politician and lobbyist hates Ted Cruz. He was not elected by insiders as far as I can tell.
Maybe you might want to think about that.
if a nutcase like John McCain calls you a "whacko bird", it might be a good thing.

And personally, I view the chemical weapons issue as pure and utter BS.
Another Gulf of Tonkin.

Re: The Cruzer might want to check with his own party...
The Maine and Tonkin have come to mind, but the one hard cold fact that I'm certain is in place in this case, and wasn't so in those others, is the hard cold fact that Chuck Hagel is not a convicted liar. Johnson and McKinnley more than lkely held that as a qualificatoin for service.

PS Red---to clarify
...what I said. Came back and read it and I see that I may have made it appear that I favor a military strike on Syria, which I don't. There is a need to be sure about who used the gas and with over 90% polling against a military strike and an administration already beat dwon by it's opposition I'd hope they'd have their s##t straight. Hagel lends a degree of credibility to the situation that hasn't been there for a full 2 deacades.
Bush and Blair allowed their neoconservative advisors to prevail and the "facts were fixed to fit the policy". Looks like the public is paying closer attention now, probably as a result of that more than nya general mistrust.

every citizen should email their senators and representatives...NOW
let them know that they don't support the BS in Syria, and that impeachment is an option.
I don't imagine that Colin Powell thought he was doing America a disservice anymore than Hagel does.
THese guys get caught up like deer in the headlights.

Another point
WHo cares if Assad did gas 300 of his people? I doubt that he did, but what if?
How many Iraqis are dead because of Bush and GW Obama? Many more 100,000's than would have been killed under Saddam.
