Bush and Blair allowed their neoconservative advisors to prevail and  the "facts were fixed to fit the policy".  Looks like the public is paying closer attention now, probably as a result of that more than nya general mistrust.

Does Chuck know who used the chemical weapons? How does he know before the investigation? Hummmmmmmmm.

That's also what Biden says should be done to a President that attacks a country without congressional approval.

snip-

Presidential hopeful Delaware Sen. Joe Biden stated unequivocally that he will move to impeach President Bush if he bombs Iran without first gaining congressional approval.

Biden spoke in front of a crowd of approximately 100 at a candidate forum held Thursday at Seacoast Media Group. The forum focused on the Iraq war and foreign policy. When an audience member expressed fear of a war with Iran, Biden said he does not typically engage in threats, but had no qualms about issuing a direct warning to the Oval Office.

"The president has no authority to unilaterally attack Iran, and if he does, as Foreign Relations Committee chairman, I will move to impeach," said Biden, whose words were followed by a raucous applause from the local audience.

Does everyone see why he earned the name "Shifty"?

I respect people that have principles and stick to them. Partisan party hacks, such as Bagger, Shifty, Sandy, and Sheepy do not garner any respect from me and would do the nation a great service by forgetting to vote.

Re: Another point

Dumb question, but when they were shooting and beheading 100,000 people, it was 'not our problem'.

Now that 300 or however many are killed, suddenly it is time to get tough?

Personally, I think Obama was looking for a talking point, basically saying something to the effect that 'yes, people dying is bad, but maybe we should stay out of it unless they do something exceptionally bad, like using nerve gas.

Now that there is evidence of gas. he's pretty well painted himself into a corner.

Either he backs down, and his 'strong words' are meaningless.

Or he intervenes, bringing us into another war with unknown casualties, at unknown expense, with an unknown outcome.   It's not like we have some great ally over there, that is being exterminated, that serves our best national interests to 'rescue'.

Is Biden still deadly serious about following constitutional law? I doubt it.

Senator Joe Biden in 2007: I Will Move To Impeach If President Bush Bombs Iran Without Congressional Approval

I'm just posting this randomly, for no reason whatsoever. Any resemblance to real events, in the present or immediate future, is purely coincidental.  Liberals are such hypocrites.

Re: The Cruzer might want to check with his own party...

Nope.  I don't do that.  But when there is one, of either party as in this case, who has a record of effectiveness and sound thinking I do tend to give them proper recognition and respect.   With 535 members of Congress I can't bring myself to your level of cynicism and summarily dismiss them all.  There are some good people in there. And FWIW it's beginning to look more and more like one of your Senators being among them.
