Listening a few brief moments
to one of those radio preachers yesterday waiting for discovers best friend.
He was talking about the second coming an why our support for Isreal is so important. By 2020 their will be over 5 million jews living in Isreal even more in the US. It's all important to support isreal and that growth to fulfill Gods promise to them.
Then christ will come back and we will have armageddon which this kook welcomes as a great positive. And it will happen in his life time because all the duck are in a row.
I was sitting in the car with the joy of my life. 14 month old Shelby that deserves a long and fruitful life and this jackass is praying for the end of the world.
What I believe or don't believe doesn't matter but what troubles me that folks that share his viewpoint get elected to power and the religious philosophy may effect the decision making in foreign relations and military acts.
So what if a congressman or president is making critical decisions based on religious philosophy. Does he welcome that war of armageddan and is he trying to encourage the fulfillment of prophesy.
Verily I say to you that this kind of mindset does not belong on power. Not here or anywhere else.

I feel the same way about your mind set Don. If we could come to an agreement that coercion is wrong and that forcing others, who are harming no one else, to follow your bidding is wrong then we might could live in peace. As long as you wish the government to enforce your opinions you are no different than that preacher.

Re: Listening a few brief moments
Come on Sam! I don't want to send your sons and daughters into a religious war. I don't want to take your money any more than you want to take mine.
I want government to provide security for their people for the very real threats that they are facing these days. That is poverty illness and over zealous conservatives that want to prosper at the poor and middle class expense. At least the southern plantation owners would feed their slaves. Todays republicans want to gut their menu.
Yeah always attack the poorest and the weakest in this country so that you got a lower tax rate which you will do your damnest to avoid. I've heard all the anti people remarks from you tight fisted corporatists and there just aint no satisfying you. You havehistorical low tax rates and yet you whine like a banshee as if you are being abused.

Re: Listening a few brief moments
What does the constitution say about the federal government providing security for people in poverty and illness? Where?

Your post sure makes a good argument to elect an atheist or at least an agnostic. They have already shown they can use reason and logic to get beyond those old beliefs which have no evidence behind them.

The preach isn't running for office, and if he were he would never be elected. The only preacher I ever remember running for office is Jesse Jackson.

I will answer my question for you, since you either don't know or will not answer. IT IS NOT THERE.
