The preach isn't running for office, and if he were he would never be elected. The only preacher I ever remember running for office is Jesse Jackson.

But as Don points out believers in that kind of malarky could be very dangerous with their finger on the buton.

Much safer to have a rational atheist as president.

Re: Listening a few brief moments

Anyone who says they know when armagedden is coming, is wrong.  Are you sure he was praying for it, or saying to be prepared for it?

Now, if he said it something like, the signs are there, for the possibility of it coming any time, that may be more accurate, but the Bible specifically says that no one on Earth knows when it is coming, and when it comes, it will come as a surprise (so, I guess technically, as long as the kooks are saying the end is right around the corner, it likely is not).

What you have to ask yourself, how much influence do the kooks control?
I went through Denver a couple years ago (remind me to never do that again) and the anti-religious kooks on the radio there, were just as bad, or worse, and I was thinking the same thing as you...what if people with these idiotic viewpoints get elected to power?  I would say, that some of those, should never be in a position of power, either.

The Kennedys were Catholic,

Clinton, and Obama claim to be 'Christian'.

Did none of them, use reason, or logic?

Re: I would

Minnesotans have elected Kieth Ellison to congress but thenhe is not trying to make allah's law the law of the land. However, if he were to insist that he wanted to make the country an islamic nation I wouldf have to oppose.

On the other hand I would be just as vigorous at opposing you so called christian ideologues rewriting the constitution to your version either. The reason being that you and yours seem to be committed to hateful discrimation and you are willing to use any tactic moral or other wise to gain power.

Look at all your willful lying to improve your power. Ignorance may be a partial excuse but when corrected you willfully ignore it.

Would you vote for a catholic? A morman? How about a Jew? Maybe a baptist?

Re: Listening a few brief moments

I don't recall which con artist/preacher said it, maybe Robertson or Falwell, but he claimed he knew his support for Israel pleased his god because when he started to preach this malarkey his ministry was "blessed", meaning the loot started flowing in.  These scumbags live like Royalty and traitorous politicians.  The Bible tell about which god can give his servants the riches of the world, but they don't believe any of it.

Big 'blessings' come to those politicians who serve the same gang.

Sure, if she or he had a good platform and sounded like their head was on straight.

Candidates do not seem to wear their religion om their sleeve in Canada.

I really have no idea what belief my MP or MPP have.

Maybe one of them is an atheist as he seems to be rational.

The other one I did not vote for, will not vote for because he is not a good representative of the people. Maybe he is a believer and that is what is wrong with him. Do you think?

Here's a good video about these brainwashed fools -->Waiting for Armageddon - Just How Evil Evangelical Christians Really are

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rA2j3OZ4wKU&feature=player_embedded

snip-- An eye opening documentary revealing how evil and messed up evangelical Christians are. filmmakers Kate Davis, David Heilbroner and Franco Sacchi explore the lives of evangelical Christians who believe that Armageddon is imminent and that Israel will be the site of Jesus's second coming. The film follows evangelical nut jobs as they prepare for the apocalypse and examines how their beliefs and craving for destruction have influenced the U.S. government's relationships with Israel and Muslim majority countries.
