Re: Low taxation the key...

The problem is for every $1.00 taken in the government spends more than $1.50. Increase revenues to 4 trillion and they will spend 5.5 trillion.

Re: Low taxation the key...

Interesting read bruce.

Have to wonder if that is where Canada is heading too as our Conservative government, now with a majority of seats so unstoppable, are cutting taxes and so far increasing deficits.

They promised in this last election to balance the budget in 4 years and lower taxes. Going to do that by cutting 'waste' out of the government and now they are hinting at putting user fees on more government services.

Of course they took the user fee off the gun registry and then claimed it is too expensive so they are going to do away with it.

Guess it all depends on the result you want to get what gets cut or taxed.

Re: Low taxation the key...

So you think the more revemie would mean more debt?  Look at the last ten years and you can see proof positive that the debt grew while revenues fell. Your side did nothing to curb spending while cutting taxes. Evidently you know little about cash flowing. It's not just the spending but the revenue is a factor.

Spoken like a real idiot that pays few taxes but want to spemd even less. And he don't want those high income folks to pay anything either.

The convoluted tax system-controlled economy is the main problem.

   http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/10/business/10capital.html   ---

Companies Spend on Equipment, Not Workers.   Just like in agriculture the government's manipulation of the economy benefits those who can control government, by belonging to the ruling parties or buying political whores.   The tax advantages given in order of increasing sales of new paint, ect. has decreased the number of ag producers and driven young people to the cities.

The 1031 tax exchange has been one of the worse laws ever written.

Don't start trying to change the subject!!  We have had low taxes and the economy has gone down the tube!  If what you guys keep crying about was true, we would be in tall cotton right now.  Sure we are spending.  Bush got us into multiple wars and every one kept crying that if we left, there would be a blood bath so Obama didn't leave.  Wars cost a lot of money but not a single 6 digit guy wants to help pay for it.  You all want the little guy to do that.
