Market impact of closing one of our borders
I believe this deserves an discussion.
Agriculture is dependent on sales, exports.
Mexico is a good customer for our products.
The talk that I am getting is closing the border,
Sealing it.
Have we ever sealed our borders with our land
Locked neighbors ?
Today, agriculture is hurting ...many crop budgets
Are not very profitable, if at all. Farm credit tighter,
And we are hearing of bankruptcy...fed reserve
Data saying, many notes are overdue.
Can we afford cutting off a neighbor to sales ?
A projection I saw today....I can't say how bad
It makes the numbers look. Not only sales,
But item shortages...and having to source
Elsewhere, with significant higher cost.
Sorry...I view this an economic issue not political.

Re: Market impact of closing one of our borders
If your neighbor`s neighbor allows his cattle to graze in your neighbor`s cornfield. And then your neighbor chases the cattle into your cornfield, is he still a good neighbor?

Re: Market impact of closing one of our borders
Ba...this is about money...the markets...sales.
Grow up
Using your example...how many bushels of grain
Will not disappear...how much will that excess
Lower the market
What about exports of hogs, poultry ?
Your bound and determined to make a political
Issue out of it.
Some of us make our living with agriculture...not
Politics.

el - if you honestly believe politics can be separated from the economics of this
there are a couple bridge salesmen looking for you.
The cannabis salesman travels with them wherever they go.

Re: Market impact of closing one of our borders
What else can go wrong , the crisis ''MUST '' be accelerated - A S A P - ?
Or an Easy Win - Trade Agreement must be reached with all '' 3 '' Mexican Countries,( @ news source) ah, ya, something bi-lateral - maybe - ?
Then, fast track the H 2 O worker Visa, darn it , I mean H 2 A, this is getting so complicated, - ?
Maybe the folks owning a 100 cows of their own, and doing their '' own '' chores each day was the '' secret sauce '' recipe - suppose, ?
Of course, there would be no E Q U I P $$$$ to administrate , G , what was I thinking ?
