The problem is, it's an imperfect world and we're imperfect people driving the bus.
a couple of things, first, there is a set amount that medicade/state pay per month, it is far less than the post amount on the
wall. There are not just old people there, younger people with ALS or advanced MS, also some people with birth defects,
or strokes, then truma patients or head injury patients.......
this is a wide ranging situation.
Yes, there are some wealthy people that transferred things to the kids....but there are also those that didn't have much money
to start with......what do you do ? You can't just kill them......granted, in some instances they could be in a "greenhouse" community
that would be more cost effective. Also with advanced technology, we can keep people at home longer...with products from Ihealthlabs
we can monitor blood glucose, weight (see if weight gain from chf), blood pressure, oxygen level, even activity level and when you
sleep.....all of the data is uploaded in real time and can be monitored to catch problems early. The new medical alarm system
are good, if you fall, it automatically goes off....an advanced system can also include home safety, including fire alarm, and
co2. you can now get a cost effective system for a cook stove, that say grandma is cooking, and goes in the other room to
watch her story, and a problem happens on the stove, the sensor will shut things down, so there is no fire. Also we have pill
dispenser systems, that if you don't take your pill it will tattle on you, and a new insulin pen product, that will prevent you
from taking an accidental 2ed dose of insulin.
but to do all the above, you have to have a pretty advance setup, and some eager beavers, and frankly many places don't.
you need some smart people, that think outside the box, that have people care attitudes.....rather we have ding a lings in
Washington and state capitals that have not a clue, and in cases, be in the care home themselves.
