Milly, put up or shut up

RINO Bumstead got a double digit win in the Iowa repubby primary race for gov. You still planning on writing in Vanderplutz's name in November to protest the RINO braindead as you stated yesterday? I'd say your support is the kiss of death for a candidate.

Boy, This governor's race must be keeping you up at night.  First off, by the time all the precincts were counted, it was not a "double digit" win last night.  The total vote tally was over 204, 000 votes and the difference was around 22,000.  If Roberts wasn't a factor, things might have been much closer.

Branstad is going to have to understand this..... Vander Plaats supporters are going to be the difference if he wins this fall, or not...... he is going to make deals with them.

All you are going to hear from Branstad is how he is going to support social issues (probably just lip service) , but that is what you are going to hear.

Culver is probably relieved that he can run on Branstad's record and not his.... and will focus on Branstad until next fall.

If Branstad were really smart, he would make Bob Vander Plaats his Lieutenant-Governor and incorporate some of his ideas into his platform.

If Branstad stiff-arms Bob V-P.... The Real Conservatives will not support him.

Everything will depend on how Branstad attempts to pull Bob Vander Plaats supporters over to his camp.

Personally, I am not expecting much and will wait to see what I will do..... plenty of time to decide before November.

Milly I hate to be disagreeable so early in the morning but I think if BVP were to take the LT job it would be a real turn off for most of us. It would be just like MCliberal taking on Push around Palin. We need some people to stand up and say these are my principles and I won't comprimise.

Brandstadt gave us Casinoes how will he stop the decline of moralitty while at the same time profiting from it?

I must say BVP wasn't my first choice I was still upset over the nussle move he made. I think he learned his lesson.

Hopefully someone will step up and take his place. I do think he should step aside though.

I think Culver has a real chance now.

I was encouraged by the other races. JR

You probably have a good point.... but the ball is in Branstad's court as to how to "woo" Real Conservatives to support him.  Right now, I would bet that more than 80% of V-P's voters will not "work" to get Branstad elected and about 40% won't even pull the lever for him.....that is a LOT of voters.  Branstad will have to offer the olive branch, if he even wants a chance to win.

For the dem voters looking for dem lite..... they got their wish in Branstad and might dump Culver, but who knows..... they always can be counted on to be puppets and dance to the tune the dem machine cranks out.  This election is Branstad's to win or lose.

If he loses this fall, Vander Plaats can always say...."I told you so".  Businesses will flee and avoid Iowa and it will turn into a bone yard of retirees and the armpit of the country.
