Had daily deaths down to low hundreds before the Pandemic of the Unvaccinated began.

Trump's rollout was chaotic and mostly Reality TV, as you'd expect.

California kept its mitigation measures in place until it was sufficiently vaccinated,  as a result their Delta surge never got out of control and even now it is turning down nicely.  Florida, on the other hand never really got cases down & enough vaccinated before DeSantis opened everything up and it blew up on him, 25,000 dead was the result.
