More old Russian links

This in the news now

http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/brennan-cia-russia-campaign-1.4127528

Brennan's statements about the number of contacts between associates of the Trump campaign and the Russians again put details about the Trump campaign's contacts with the Kremlin into the spotlight as reports emerged that Trump had asked his national intelligence director and NSA chief to state publicly there was no evidence of collusion before investigations into the matter were complete.

Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats told a Senate panel Tuesday he would not comment on the reports.

Brennan's testimony came the day after Trump's former national security adviser, Michael Flynn, invoked his constitutional right against self-incrimination in response to a subpoena from the Senate intelligence committee, which, like the House intelligence committee, is conducting an investigation into the Russian meddling and possible coordination with the Trump campaign. The Senate intelligence committee asked Flynn and three other Trump campaign associates for documents, including lists of meetings he had with the Russians during the campaign.

Re: Related Investigations

Trump just needs to leave the investigators alone and get on with business.  As for the investigations, they've been going on quite a while, and lots of resources being spent -- FBI, CIA, NSA, Dept of Defense, Senate Armed Services Committee, House Armed Services Committee, Senate Intelligence Committee, House Intelligence Committee, Senate Judiciary Committee, and probably more.  Many of us remember the Watergate investigations and hearings that seemed to drag on forever.  This thing might take a year or two to play out, which could easily influence the 2018 elections, Democrats are counting on it.  At the same time, Democrats are making no new friends by exaggerating every little tidbit of non-news being leaked from various sources.  They need to somehow consolidate and coordinate the investigations, and we don't really need the details leaked to us in the meantime, it will be in the reports and probable hearings to follow.

Also, this interesting read --

Paradoxically, special counsel Robert Mueller will provide cover for President Trump, as it will take him many months to complete his investigations. The leaks are going to dry up. By law, information on the probe must be protected. So whatever the outcome, Trump will have months without the attack headlines in which to sell his tax-cut plan.

And all this talk of impeachment based on obstruction of justice is just Democratic political pap. George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley, who is no partisan, calls it “an awfully thin soup.” Former federal prosecutor and NR contributor Andrew McCarthy says “the basis for claiming at this point that President Trump obstructed justice is not there.” Acting FBI director Andrew McCabe told Congress there’s been no interference in the FBI’s investigations and no request for additional funding.

And if Comey wrote a memo about obstruction of justice, he is legally obligated to report it to the highest levels of the Justice Department. Failure to do so could invoke criminal charges.

Hearings in the Senate and House of Representatives on Tuesday showed there is no evidence of collusion between the Trump presidential campaign and Russia and that President Donald Trump never jeopardized intelligence sources, a White House spokesman said.

LOL, no boi.

it is in regard to an administration that YOU like the other traitors support.

Re: Related Investigations

You are discounting the Brennan testimony then?

Re: Related Investigations

3 weeks ago I'd admit that the soup was fairly thin- really only enough for people who didn't have a clothespin on their noses to smell a lot of rotten fish.

Since then it has thickened substantially, primarily owing to the POTUS himself. Depending on a guy with the triple problems of vile character, serious personality disorders and likely in cognitive decline is a problem.

Which curiously will be the source of little reflection on the part of partisans, I'm sure.

Brennan said that he cannot say definitively there was actual collusion.

Republican Representative Trey Gowdy asked Brennan: "Did you see evidence of collusion, coordination and conspiracy between Donald Trump and Russian state actors?"

"I saw information and intelligence that was worthy of investigation by the bureau (FBI) to determine whether or not such cooperation or collusion was taking place," Brennan replied, but declined to elaborate.
