I am sure you are proud of your uncle 3020. I would be. No, there is no way we can link those tests to health problems. Those guys were also around a lot of chemicals and the ships were loaded with asbestos and lord knows what else.  We owe them a lot - those that served.

He said after detonation his jobs was to go off ship on a flat bottom and drop buoys at certain locations. Many times it would start to rain and they would hear the loud speakers "all hands below decks", he said we couldn't get below decks, we had to stay in the rain until we finished the job.

 

Guess back then they didn't know everything about radiation but they knew what bad was.
