Mr. Taylor
So if Pope Francis, Mitt Romney, And Don kraft think that the disadvantaged should share in a tiny morsel of the wealth enjoyed by the prosperous, then you conclude that we want to all be poor together? That we divide up the wealth innequal portions so that we all have the same status in life.
Exaggeration doesn't strengthen your argument!

Re: Mr. Taylor
It has nothing to do with what you 'want', but rather the historical results of wealth redistribution.
I often get chastized for not 'wanting' this or that, but want has nothing to do with it. I WANT everyone to have a high standard of living, I WANT all workers to have high wages, I WANT everyone to prosper. However, history shows (Detroit) that simply taxing more, and pouring in more of other people's money, does not raise the average standard of living. What would do that, would be more manufacturing jobs, more utilization of our own resources, instead of free trade, outsourcing, and stifling of business.
One example:
We have a President who made public speeches, where he said that within the USA, energy prices would 'necessarily skyrocket', if his ideas were implemented. If you were a multi-national company, would you be looking to expand in an area where your future costs were planned to 'skyrocket', or somewhere that promised you access to cheap energy. Keep in mind, energy costs are one of the major expenses, in most manufacturing facility/process.

Re: Mr. Taylor
Define tiny morsel.
Can you define socialism?
Are you a socialist? If not why are you upset?
Socialism takes away a persons desire to strive to be better. Look at most unions, no matter how hard you work you get paid the same as the lazy guy standing next to you.

Same logic LBJ used when he declared war on poverty 50 years ago. A complete and utter failure.

Re: Mr. Taylor
Raising peoples wages a bit is not taking all you have and divvying it up equally. When have you ever favored a wage increase for labor?

Re: Mr. Taylor
That is BS. They have social programs all around the world in competitive nations and people still strive to get ahead. In germany france Sweden denmark, canada, they still have a capitalist society where people are rewarded for work and ingenuity.
Are you a capitalist? I am and I have done quite well in spite of difficult circumstances. Yet i can see the need to pay workers living wage and so they don't need so many social programs to stay alive or stay out of poverty.. I beleive you prefer it that way. That the successful succeed and the less successful live in abject poverty.
I don't mind paying a buck more for my meal. In fact I believe that tipping enables employers to evade their responsibility to pay workers. Time to shut down that 15 to 20% stuff!

Detroit lost thousands of jobs. The expense and the civic responsibilities did not evaporate along with the jobs. Roads streets, utilities maintanence and services did not go away. they are still there and the city still has the obligation to meet their expenses.
So how would you bring the budget to balance in Detroit Oh mr business wizard? Tell me please!

It's is very simple. You raise taxes. Why do they think they can have the things they want without paying for them? Just raise txes until the budget is balanced.
