Re: Oil will be exported anyway so how does it benefit the US

Our corn is not sold to the highest bidder- the government mandates that our consumers incinerate it at 1.4 EROEI.

Which is very close to burning it for its own sake.

Re: NASA's Hansen- Keystone XL would be "game over" for climate

And the monetary games and trading scams can bring huge price swings, which destroy the market signals. Really I'm not so worried about oil so long as the supply gradually gets more expensive. If it rapidly changes it won't be pretty, but really the world is about to hit a prolonged period of below the trendline use of fossil fuels that won't be pretty anyhow.

Here is a better way to make corporations more considerate to the rights of others without regulations. Eliminate the wall governments have erected via law between corporate ownership and personal liability.

Actually doubt that is the case but it is exactly what we're going to do- in terms of letting the "market" take care of energy issues.

Although since we're definitely not going to quit the monetary games I gues we'll have that to blame when the thing craps out.

One of the cable news outfits had an interview with a guy sitting at the Machine Shed restaurant  outside of Davenport yesterday, answering about who he was favoring for the caucuses.

He said he was leaning toward Bachmann becasue she appeared to be the most stalwart on debt issues and he didn't want to leave all this debt to his children and grandchildren.

Personally I'm a lot more worried about not leaving any oil to them. Money is pretty much infinite, fossil fuels aren't.

What good is it to leave them fossil fuels if you make them some expensive they can't afford to use them. Mean while GE and Warren tax me because I don't pay them anyway Buffet rake it in hand over fist because of government intervention.

We produce more than mandated and export it.

Never a round, seem to notice it once it starts to hit the ground.

Model sudent

You know, if anybody was ever moved to make a documentary on the disemination and dependable regurgitation of information and dogma on the part of the premillenialist movement and was looking for the perfect subject, you could make the big time.

Quick, dedicated, efficent and proficient , highly educable and eminently retentive. And supremely confident and fully abiding.

Re: NASA's Hansen- Keystone XL would be "game over" for climate

Necessary as can be. And you'd think it wouldn't be difficult but the pols have to decide to keep themselves from continuing to support it and that's not likely to happen over night as there is good money in it for them (members of Congress...both parties).

It was Congress that confirmed the 2 Bush SCOTUS appointees that got us Citizens United. A referendum leading to an ammendment to void that decision, and the confimation of judges who would not agree with it (tend to be socially and culturally liberal also for some reason so would be hard to get accomplished).

Re: Model sudent

What's a premillenialist? Is that like knutsler, who prematurely shot his wad of credibility by predicting teotwawki at the millenial?
