NAT, Health Insurance

Well, the farmers are ever so freaked out over on the other site about the huge jump in their premiums, and rightfully so.

But while they screech and wail about the horrible OBAMAcare, what they they apparently don't know is this :

When the ACA was being negotiated, it was obviously determined that the Insurance companies will lose $$$ because they will now be forced to lift caps, take on sicker and thus more expensive people.

SO- the Gov't said, ok, if you lose money, we will reimburse you so that you won't have to raise crazy rates.

THEN- last year ( 2015 ) in the Gov't omnibus Spending Bill, Senator Rubio slipped in a rider that took AWAY that subsidy, Just so that he and the Republicants could stand there and say : See, we told ya it would fail !

Yet, these same proud  republican farmers continue to vote for the very people that do this to them, and theirs.

Just flat out amazes me.

Could someone please post this over there ?  I can't for obvious reasonsSmiley Very Happy

WOW - Even Obamacare is Bush's fault.

Re: NAT, Health Insurance

Si'.

More importantly, ACA has very seriously bent the cost curve down in Medicare- the second largest item in the budget. But if you want Medicare to fail and be replaced by something private, provided (very profitably) by your donors, that is a catastrophe.

For the small (about 1% of total being the exchange purchasers who don't qualify for a subsidy) number of people getting killed in this (way overrepresented in our demo here), this absolutely screams for Public Option.

But we'lls ee how hard they want to think, how willing theya re to give up being arsonists.

And if we can get her elected, we'll see how hard we can push Clinton.

For the most part "they" don't deserve this help but we are Good Samaritans.

Re: NAT, Health Insurance

In reality a very great number of things are Bush's fault- and The People Who Did Everything Right (90% now Trump supporters).

But they have undergone a strategic rebranding.

Overall medical costs were going up much faster during those years.

Re: NAT, Health Insurance

It is like taking a lot of campaign cash from FedEx and UPS, then requiring that the Postal Service fund retirement benefits into the future way beyond what any other organization is required to, which creates an annual operating loss.

Then proclaiming- "see, government doesn't work."

Was this money supposed to come from that magic pot that never costs anyone a thing and never runs dry? Get your head out!

Do you think there wasn't a magic pot before ACA?

Re: NAT, Health Insurance

I am sure everyone thought there was one. Doesn't seem to be working too well does it?
