NFL Millionaire Protest continues

If the MN VIkings join in, my TV set gets turned to a different channel.

Had the former flagship radio station of southern MN on yesterday, and the son of the former premier sports journalist was bloviating about his version of social justice, and how the highly paid football players are brave and courageous, and he started out fielding phone calls, and every one was telling him what to do so he shut down the calls.

This after talking over a man that had lost someone in combat, received a folded flag, and the caller, this man, had told the punk of a radio host that no one that received a folded flag on a casket would ever protest during the anthem.

And this punk on the radio, who I am not going to dignify by naming,  called the caller a coward for hanging up on him when he, the radio host,  was rude and obnoxious to him.

What rocks do this fruitloops crawl out from under? I almost feel like emailing WCCO radio and telling them my thoughts, but I am sure they already have plenty of damage control to do. I did the right thing and changed the station.

These protests are good timing, right for the mid term elections.   🙂    The Left says "Oh they aren`t protesting the flag, they`re protesting Negroes that got shot"   Okay, I`ll buy that, however if you weigh 300lbs 6`' 4" and just committed a petty crime and a 170lb police officer shows up and you give him the bum`s rush, I think you have a damned good chance of getting shot, even if you`re a blonde Swede...but that`s just me.

And why take a knee during the anthem, if you`re not protesting this "racist nation that was founded by white, slaveowners"?  The American flag has nothing to do with the police shooting Negroes, unless you hate the country in which criminals that threaten police get shot from time to time.  

Add to that the NFL has troubles, little white kids in 8th grade don`t play the sport as much anymore so there isn`t that Fran Tarkenton hero worship there once was. The NFL loses the "Rush listening, Trump voters" and the taxpayer funded stadiums go empty and no one to listen to the Budweiser and Ford F-150 Northland edition commercials  on tv....."what`s on Netflix babe?".

Revenue sharing, watch one is the same as watching them all.

If they were being brave protesters they would refuse to play.

Exactly!  Oh I`m sure it`s fun for them to go in front of 80 thousand fans and into living rooms and give middle America the middle finger.  But if they really are serious, how about going into these neighborhoods and inviting the local police to a Sunday morning church service and afterwards talk about our differences at fellowship?  The petty thugs would see their gridiron heroes in church peacefully dialoging with the local police and perhaps start attending services on their own.  If the police and the troublemakers in the community know each other in a non confrontational setting beforehand, there`d be a much less likely chance of things turning out badly.  

Hayden Fry had Iowa players simply put "ANF" on the back of their helmets "America Needs Farmers" during the farm crisis and 30 years later that simple message is sold on merchandise and very popular.    The Iowa ag majors on the team didn`t "take a knee"  during the anthem back in 1985.  But that was a more positive way to bring attention to the importance of farmers.

If they are harmed then Dems would probably give them a Stormy Daniels bribe like farmers get.

They're protesting because they're not being taxed enough.

in a perfect world, Obnoxious would be on the radio and we could simply turn the dial.

Is that clear enough, or do I need to spell it out further?

Why do we have to play the national anthem at every pumpkin rolling and goat roping?  Few other nations see that need.  How about, "play ball" or, fire the starting pistol?

At the same time, when I pay for entertainment, I am not paying for the entertainers political view.  They are welcome to express them whenever they wish, but not on my nickel.  I am free to choose to not pay or watch them, which is what I do. 

I don't need to watch football enough that I have to watch people use my entertainment dollar to push their own views.
