National positive rate 9.3

percent yesterday.

Bad news for the Pale Cult of the Short Fingered Vulgarian.

And the USA.

Re: National positive rate 9.3

And testing is falling behind the load.

Even with an immediate full lockdown- and that won’t happen in those states unless it reaches Bring Out Your Dead levels- wouldn’t peak for a couple of weeks.

Trailing measures like hospitalizations and You Know What following as expected.

NE states are also experiencing a challenge with reopening but are in a better place to deal with it.

Re: National positive rate 9.3

When you look at the NY charts what do you see and what might it tell you?

Btw, took 2 days to get my results back, negative, I was disappointed.

Re: National positive rate 9.3

Did you drive to TX to get it?

OH looking a little bumpy, though.

Re: National positive rate 9.3

Still spreading it to other countries.

A US student arriving on a student visa flew to Toronto then to Nova Scotia but did not quarantine for the required 14 days and so spread it to others in Nova Scotia and to people from PEI where they have had no cases for weeks.

2 planes into Bermuda from US have each had passengers test positive when they arrived.

Yeah, we’re not going anywhere until we can be relatively certain we aren’t compounding the problem.

Re: National positive rate 9.3

Of course tests tend to increase in places with a hot outbreak.

But still a lot of testing in the NE (part of what you have to do) and the positive rate is generally around 1%.

The problem with aggregated data.

BTW, as far as Just Knowing being 180 degrees ***** backwards- the seasonal thing. Like Sweden. where cases and deaths are dropping sharply*- partly because it scared people into being even more careful. But they're outside more.

Curious that nobody considered what the S. US is like in Summer.

*not due to herd immunity- estimated at 6%.

Can't be, Just know it's not.  Did you notice how the slopes of Sweden and NY look strangely similar in shape regarding new cases and new deaths.  Can't be saturation, just changing behavior.
