I don`t "take Trump`s word as gospel" not at all.  Trump just so happens to have a similar policy on world trade, immigration and the 2nd Amendment that I have ALWAYS had.  Those 3 issues are all that I care about, I wouldn`t bother voting on the other issues...oh anti-baby killing is good and all that stuff, but trade, immigration and guns are my hot buttons.  They get that right and everything else seems to fall in place.

Every Democrat is 100% wrong on trade, immigration and guns, therefore I am a Republican and Trump supporter.
