Re: Nice work baggers

SS also needs to be reformed although not by giving the keys to the Bush contributors on Wall street as in 2005.

Re: Nice work baggers

Bush wanted to allow people to take care of themselves, the libs want to take from one to give to another.

Re: Nice work baggers

People do not think we should have a free ride. We want the ride and are willing to pay for it. It is not SS and Medicare that built up a $14 trillion debt. It was all that iother stuff you refused to pay for. Starting with the 1980's starve the beast philosophy. How well has that been working for us?

If 300 million americans cannot afford medicare benefits, how in the world do you expect those seniors to pay for it individually?

Kraft calls that charity through government. It is twisted.

Re: Nice work baggers

This is another one of those things that each party will whine and complain about when the other party does it but keep quiet when they do it.

June 2009

Obama to outline $313 billion in Medicare, Medicaid spending cuts

Under pressure to pay for his ambitious reshaping of the nation's healthcare system, President Obama on Saturday outlined $313 billion in Medicare and Medicaid spending cuts over the next decade to help cover the cost of expanding coverage to tens of millions of America's uninsured.

The proposal comes on top of more than $634 billion in new revenue Obama suggested reserving for healthcare in his February budget plan.

Re: Nice work baggers

Now dag, you know full well that the cuts/savings came from reducing the medicare advantage program that government has been paying private insurers to cover seniors. Sebiors will not have reduced bernefits but insureres will have less profits. A simple Google search will explain that to you./ But then you already knew that didn'y you? Just left that part out?

Re: Nice work baggers

The only reform that needs to be done is to pay for it. A 1% increase in FIca taxes would produce a 30 to 40% increase in revenues. Which would cost a $100K earner $1000 in additional tax. Ican afford it, can you?

Re: Nice work baggers

Further, the Ryan plan is, as Newt said, radical right wing social engineering.

Not unlike the activist judges who the RW has pushed into the system over the last 30 years- it never was about opposition to judicial activism or social engineering, it was about whose agenda it was to follow.
