Anything to strengthen The Man, eh Bruce. We are stripped of our right to R12 because man was destroying the environment. Gone just like the incandescent light bulb. You cheer the Man and belittle anyone who points out the slow loss of our freedoms.

Re: 3020
Besides it was learned after all the economic damage was done, hydroflorocarbons had nothing to do with the hole in the ozone layer. Funny you never hear anything about it now. Millions were spent converting AC systems to 134A. BUT WHAT'S IT MATTER NOW!!!!

Re: 3020
DuPont played the govt, and the environmentalists in this case. DuPont was in position with the more expensive alternative product to replace the old refrigerant with their new product.
Same thing happened with the incadesent light bulb manufacturing ban. General Electric, Philips and Sylvania wanted the cheap traditional light bulbs gone, and posititioned themselves to import CFLs from low wage third world nations.
Again, the environmentalists got played by the very "big nasty corporations" they hate in their anti-capitalist rants.
Always follow the money.

Re: New name for it is irrelevant.....
You can stay asleep if you want to. I choose to pay attention to the continued talk of more and more "needed" regulation. Bigger and bigger government seems to be the desire of those on the left. They are making progress.

Did you get tha t form Limbaugh or Beck? You might want to bone up on your chemistry.
Hydrofplurocarbaons are what is in use now. They replaced chlorohydrocarbons, which did deplete the ozone layer and were also found to be a greenhouse gas.
The hydroflurocarbons do not, as you say. But they weren't was pashed out/replaced. They are the replacement.

R12 is what is banned. You have to replace it with something else. Most of the farm equipment was switched to 134A. At a great cost. R12 was available on the black market but most of it is now gone. We switched everything to 134A but used our same compressors. Had to replace the receiver dryers and expansion valves. Also had to buy a vacuum pump.

NOTED - you addressed nothing I wrote. I got it. Who is really asleep here?
By the way. Can you name 4 regulations that are the major heart of your problem? I doubt it.

Irrelevant to you. You didn't have to write the check. You said nothing would be done until the ocean rise enough to affect the 2%. I said something has already been done and it cost the peasant plenty. Why is it when it is cold it doesn't mean the globe is not warming but when a category 1 hurricane hits New York and New Jersey it is proof that it is?
