Nox, another conspiracy for ya.

snip-

The beings have repeated their efforts in the US and have been active since 1948, the men said, and accused the respective governments of trying to keep the information secret.

The unlikely claims were compiled by six former US airmen and another member of the military who interviewed or researched the evidence of 120 ex-military personnel.

The information they have collected suggests that aliens could have landed on Earth as recently as seven years ago.

The men's aim is to press the two governments to recognise the long-standing extra-terrestrial visits as fact.

They are to be presented on Monday 27 September at a meeting in Washington.

One of the men, Capt Robert Salas, said: "The US Air Force is lying about the national security implications of unidentified aerial objects at nuclear bases and we can prove it."

He said said he witnessed such an event first-hand on March 16, 1967, at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Montana which housed Minuteman nuclear missiles.

Capt Salas continued: "I was on duty when an object came over and hovered directly over the site.

"The missiles shut down - 10 Minuteman missiles. And the same thing happened at another site a week later. There's a strong interest in our missiles by these objects, wherever they come from. I personally think they're not from planet Earth."

Others claim to have seen similar activity in the UK.

Col Charles Halt said he saw a UFO at the former military base RAF Bentwaters, near Ipswich, 30 years ago, during which he saw beams of light fired into the base then heard on the military radio that aliens had landed inside the nuclear storage area.

He said: "I believe that the security services of both the United States and the United Kingdom have attempted - both then and now - to subvert the significance of what occurred at RAF Bentwaters by the use of well-practised methods of disinformation."

The site was then the base of the US 81st Tactical Fighter Wing.

Capt Bruce Fenstermacher, a former US Air Force officer, also claims he saw a cigar-shaped UFO hovering above a nuclear base in Wyoming in 1976.

Re: Nox, another conspiracy for ya.

There has never been an investigation into this, why?  What are they hiding?  Our leaders could be pod people.  We need an investigation, let Kuccinich chair the panel, he has already seen aliens and will be better at identifying the pod people.

Re: Nox, another conspiracy for ya.

Maybe you're just kidding and I'm being a drudge, but anyway.

It seems to me that might have exposed youself to the potential to be hoisted by your own petard.

I don't know what happened there and at this point have nothing to go on other than the testimony of someone who is described as being of a credible nature.  Nothing else to really hang on to there.

This single story aside,  I am inclined to believe that far too many credible people have reported seeing things to not believe that there is some sort of phenomenon that has been observed. Beyond that there is a dearth of evidence.

But the distinct tendency is to immediately grasp onto whatever opinion respectable people are supposed to have and then denigrate anyone else with the notion that they then believe in green men in Area 51 etc. etc. etc.

The desire to not look foolish is THE most powerful element of the human herding instinct.

Having lived much of my adult life in the age of financial bubbles I've become fascinated with human herding and social mood. I would say that is the first major difference between me and someone who has decided that it is simply impossible for so many people to be wrong in accepting the official conspiracy theory of 9/11. The second is that I'm stubborn and arrogant and don't really care how many people shout me down- in fact it is consistent with my premise.

There is a common element between the story that you link and the truth movement. The reason why anyone is even remotely interested in the UFO story is becasue the military officer who tells the tale sounds credible to us or at least has credentials that keep us from dismissing him as a nut without listening.

The same might be said of the truther moverment which has the support of thousands of architects, engineers, pilots, military and intelligence professionals . Like Sabrosky says, "those are not professions that regularly attract the gullible and credulous."

Re: Nox, another conspiracy for ya.

So the space aliens disarmed the nukes, whats the big deal, how hard can it be to re-arm them?

Tell me Nox, are you comfortable with such a corrupt government in charge of your health care?

Re: Nox, another conspiracy for ya.

Where is this administration corrupt?  Don't go telling about senator so and so or rep so and so getting caught doing something illegal.  They are not the administration.  Also, if you had the guts to admit it, you would admit that the govt ISN'T in charge of your health care.  Don't you read anything official rather than letting someone who is against it tell you things.  Have you read the plan?  I have.

Re: Nox, another conspiracy for ya.

The government telling you that you have to buy insurance is not government control? The government not approving medicines because they are too expensive is not government control? The government telling insurance companies they must keep 26 year old "children" on the parents plans is not government control? How many time did the plan say "as determined by the health secretary"?

BTW what did the plan say about gold?

Re: Nox, another conspiracy for ya.

The govt. also tells you that you have to wear a seatbelt while driving also.  Everyone should have insurance so the cost of treating people at the emergency will at least slow down.  Where does the govt tell you that you can't have a certain medicine?  They do tell you or as right now, the insurance company will tell you that a brand name drug is too expensive and will refuse to give it to and make you get the generic.  Keeping children on for another 3 years really helps the young person who maybe still lives at home and doesn't have a job.  Some children are still in school and live at home.  Not a problem for me.  Great idea.  Wish it had been available when my two were still at home attending the university.  I didn't count but not sure if that even comes close to meaning what you are inferring.  Also, there is NO "death panel" no matter how many times palin spouts it.
