OPEC is irrelevant to the USofA, we are energy independent.  What, oh, never-mind that was under Trump - our dear leader senile joe destroyed that.  Dang, how do you screw that up?

Re: OPEC conundrum

You’re an idiot. Oil is fungible, it is a global market.

But the same goes for US drillers- rig counts up every week.

That has nothing to do with my post - What part of -energy independent- do you not understand?

Senile joe's gas prices and energy decisions hurt the poor and less fortunate, I can sympathize - but that has nothing to do with my post.

Re: Energy independent, not hardly

The US field production is about 340 million barrels per month, we import another 180 million.  It's hard to claim you're energy independent when 35% of your petroleum is imported.

Re: Energy independent, not hardly

We do export some refined product, pick up some refinery gain etc.

But except for making sure you have enough for strategic purposes, "energy independence" doesn't mean a lot except for the trade deficit.

Oh wait.
