Obama admits Obamacare rate hikes

How the damned fool bold face lied to the people to get it passed without one single Repulican vote, now it`s going down the tubes as we all predicted...he`s still over 50% approval in the polls.   People get the government they deserve, they chose a cool black guy over common sense and here we are.

Re: Obama admits Obamacare rate hikes

"In Arizona, unsubsidized premiums for a hypothetical 27-year-old buying a benchmark "second-lowest cost silver plan" will jump by 116 percent, from $196 to $422, according to the administration report."  --- I'm assuming that is a monthly premium, the article doesn't say, yet annually that would be a change from $2352 to $5064.  I'm in my late 50's, yet my 1st annual premiums that exceeded $5000 were only 7-8 years ago.  Of course, I've still not figured out why a simple 10-15 minute appointment at the doctor clinic costs $140-$150.

Re: Obama admits Obamacare rate hikes

The 15 minute visit costs $140 because if the doctor doesn't give every useless test in the world the patient will come back and sue the doc.  And the patient wants to see a number on a chart that says it is in the range of Normal since the patient doesn't trust the doctor in the first place.

Same reason patients insist on name-brand pills instead of generics.

Hey, listen to Dr. Oz on TV.  He's free.  And if one doesn't like his advice, the patient can take it up with Judge Judy.

Re: Obama admits Obamacare rate hikes

The bottom line on medical insurance is we are all headed for single payer.

A young, healthy person is not interested in health insurance because it costs a lot more than the benefit received.

An old, unhelathy person is vitally interested in health insurance because it pays the bills that theoretically keeps them on earth longer,, and they certainly can't afford to pay the bills themselves, both because the bills are outrageous and because the geezer didn't bother to save any money for old age.

The only solution is the sick people have to FORCE the healthy people to pay.  Any solution that let's the healthy or lucky or frugal people off the hook will not work.

Give it up, boys and girls, it's only a matter of time.

Now, of course, what will happen is there will be single-pay health care for 95% and the other 5% wll use it and then go to private specialists because they can be seen faster and trust them more.  And because they can speak local English.
