Re: Obama care IS government care.
Tommie Dude, you do realize that federal money doesn't just drop from the sky. It was our money -- originally.
If we didn't have to cover all those progams the federal government has (tranfer of wealth, study the mating habits of the snail darter) we would have more money to spend closer to home where we can watch the spenders.

But but but, You just said in your opening paragraph that ths is the first time in history where citizens were forced to pay for health insurance. In fact they have been forced to pay medicare taxes since the 1960's. Which means you don't know what the **** your talking about.

Nobody made you king. You don't get to be the decider of what we do.
Ask all those that are taking personal responsibility that are free how that s working out for them. I mean those that can;t afford food fiber shelter and heath care. They may be free but america is not treating them too well.
Somehow, I think you don't give a **bleep**. There int one **bleep** word in the constitution about capitalism. Nothing that says the strong get to devour or enslave the weak.

Mr Kraft, I could say you are blind to the needs of your children and grand children, expecting them to pay for the things you want now. I will not do that.

Re: Obama care IS government care.
No I am not blind. I know that government needs to pay for what it does. And medical has to be paid for. We the american people are paying for it even now. Everydarn bit of it directly or indirectly. That s why the health care plan will involve premiums to be paid by policy holders. In some cases some people will get subsidized health insurance like farmers get subsidized crop insurance. Perhaps subsidizing health insurance for thousandaires makes at least as much sense as subsidizing crop insurance for millionaires.
It's you that only thinks of yourself. I already have government FINANCED HEALTH INSURANCE. IT serves me well. They do not control health care. They provide a service that private insurers will not. Insuring the aged that are incapable of buying health insurance affordable or not in the private market. Insurance companies do not want our business. Nt enough rofit in it. Neither do they want to insure the sick or those of high risk. In stead they want the young and healthy and those of low risk. They are not serving the public well. Yet you folks want to perpetuate their strangle hold on the insurance business.
You may not want to pay for single payer but you ARE paying for this arrangement and you are paying a lot more.

Hummmmmmmmm Mr Kraft. Not one word about how government care will lower cost, all you talk about is who is going to pay for it. May be not blind quite nearsighted of you I would say.

r3020 look north of your border and check the per person cost compared to the per person cost in the USA. Then factor in the fact that all Canadians get care while some millions in the USA have been left out because they can not afford it.
Now tell me why your system is better cost wise than a government operated universal care system.
Who is near sighted? Indeed blind maybe.

Canuck, no one in the US is denied care. The same is not true under Britcare. That is the direction we are headed.

What about these?
http://www.cbpp.org/cms/?fa=view&id=628
Data released today by the Census Bureau show that the number of uninsured Americans stood at a record 46.6 million in 2005, with 15.9 percent of Americans lacking health coverage. “The number of uninsured Americans reached an all-time high in 2005,” said Robert Greenstein, executive director of the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. “It is sobering that 5.4 million more people lacked health insurance in 2005 than in the recession year of 2001, primarily because of the erosion of employer-based insurance.”
Yes I know if they broke their leg they can get emergency care but that is not health care. If they can not afford insurance they can not afford to pay a doctor when they are sick either.
That my friend is rationing!
