Re: In the first place

Yes. I do think alot of farmers farm the family land and think it should pass to them scott free. In fact some of them think their parents should stiff their siblings so the on farm son gets to proceed where mom and dad ended up. It's all very interesting that these folks can rationalize that they and only they are entitled to Mom and Dads accumulation simply because they have been farming the acres.

I wonder what they would say if the will said " you have had this opportunity for 20 years now it's time for your siblings to catch up. The land is theirs, sonny boy, and  you are out because you should have built your own business while you had the opportunity." Now it is your brother and sister's chance. Deal with it!

Free economics lesson, Don

First lesson`s free, any subsequent straightening out you need will be billed to your credit card.....naw not really I`ll always straighten you out for free  Smiley Happy .    Farmers are "price takers" because we produce the raw food commmodity and there`s like a million of us out there.  Corps like Walmart are "price setters" if you want soap or bathroom tissue, you`ll pay, you`ll b!tch but you`ll pay. Let`s say we tax the crap out of corporations, where will they get the money to pay their $43 billion tax bill? Do they have a printing press out back like the Federal Government?  Will their Uncle Scrooge McDuck pay their tax bill? No and no Walmart, Shopko,Target, etal will be in the same boat and products in their stores....will....go...up. Quick story, my Uncle was second banana at a concrete company. He said the owner loved it when the unions threatened a strike, if they needed to raise the concrete $2 a yard to cover the higher wages they would raise it $5/yard. There were only 2 maybe 3 concrete companies in the area so they had the customers by the short hairs. BTW have you bought your fertilizer yet? Isn`t that wonderfull how 3 suppliers are meeting our needs?

So you believe Walmart, Exxon, GE should pay no income tax? How about my business. Can I be tax free as well? Or do I have to incorporate to get that advantage?

Sure don, sell shares and pay dividends with your profits. Pay yourself a big salary but you'll have to pay 39% individual tax on that. Good luck what's your stock price : )

Heard today that a business making 250K will save about $7,000 in taxes if they were extended. That's not enough to hire an employee and create jobs. Most people also don't know the Bush cut was 3%. It looks like hoever Obama is going to go along with the extension. How about we track the "growth" it creates? Everyone should pay their fair share and we sould cut spending.

It's not that they will save $7,000 if extended, it's they will not have to pay an additional $7,000 if they are not. Money that will help to keep the economy from shedding even more jobs.

$7000 is $3.36 an hour Wehav. Minimum wage is $7.25. FYI. No new jobs there.
