I'm no fan of McConnell, but please show the quote where "McConnell vowed to make Obama a failed President with GOP obstructionism". McConnell made a statement about making Obama a 1 term president - well duh.
There are many reasons why the Obama Presidency was a failure, including republican opposition, and I fully expect Democrats to do the same with Trump - that's politics.
President Obama did say, "You don't like a particular policy or a particular president? Then argue for your position. Go out there and win an election". Republicans listened & won an election.
