Parler to go dark

Apple says it will pull the plug on Parler tomorrow. Bruce, nQx, and RJ are popping champagne corks tonight. The man wins another round. Castro style censorship makes it's way to the US. Be very proud of your vote counters.

Re: Parler to go dark

The evil will NOT prevail

Sunday (tomorrow) at midnight Amazon will be shutting off all of our servers in an attempt to completely remove free speech off the internet. There is the possibility Parler will be unavailable on the internet for up to a week as we rebuild from scratch. We prepared for events like this by never relying on amazons proprietary infrastructure and building bare metal products.

We will try our best to move to a new provider right now as we have many competing for our business, however Amazon, Google and Apple purposefully did this as a coordinated effort knowing our options would be limited and knowing this would inflict the most damage right as President Trump was banned from the tech companies.

This was a coordinated attack by the tech giants to kill competition in the market place. We were too successful too fast. You can expect the war on competition and free speech to continue, but don’t count us out.

As I said. I’m skeptical of censorship but find it interesting that people who have glued themselves to Republicanism and what it traditionally stands for, most notably “the business of America is business” and all of that no regulations free enterprise stuff are saying that a company that has put billions into developing a complex system doesn’t have the right to do as they wish with some other enterprise that is piggy backing on it.

This isn’t typical Marshall political material. He’s just looking into how it all works:

Well that is until it comes to baking cakes or paying for some one the suck a child out of the womb. Or using the "right" pronoun. There is no bigger hypocrite in the world than you Bruce.

Except you're wrong Bruce.  Government grants special exemption to the social media companies.   Government playing favorites.

The economy is just one front of the war we have now.  It was a mistake for parler to ever have built their platform on aws.  Gab went through the same thing like 2 years ago.

This will just raise the profile of the issue that conservatives need to use their market power against those that would destroy them.  Don't buy Chinese junk from Amazon.

Re: Parler to go dark

Ag.com is my only "social media" so I`m not up to speed on a lot of this.  It seems to me that Facebook, Twitter and Parler are "utilities", in politics if a party or candidate aren`t allowed access they are at a distinct disadvantage in today`s world.   As long as you pay your electric bill, the power company isn`t allowed to turn off your juice, if it`s to the Democrat, socialist, communist, BLM headquarters or whatever destructive organization you have, a Republican power company employee can`t turn off your electricity.

Perhaps Twitter should have a "Ag Forum" section where they have a romper room for all things political occur with only rudimentary administrative influence?   I know, they are stretching the definitions to the max on the "shouting fire in the theater" argument, well where the hell were they censoring BLM matter when they were inciting riots with the FALSE CLAIMS of "hands up don`t shoot" and destroying FEDERAL property?????   It`s been a crazy double standard.

But like the lady reporter that demanded access to the men`s locker room in order to do her job effectively the playing field must be leveled to keep up a facade  of promoting unity.  If people just feel that they are being heard, their propensity for violence goes way down, censor them and anarchy is right around the corner...perhaps that`s what`s being cultivated here?
