Is what he did illegal?   I heard on the radio that he had all the proper permits to hunt a lion, and that he paid professional guides to take him under the assumption that they would ensure he wasn't doing something he shouldn't be.

If he did something illegal, he should be charged with a crime, and punished to the full extent of the law.

However, in this country, people are innocent until proven guilty, so one has to have the assumption he is not guilty, at least not at this time.

Which begs the question, why is someone being persecuted, for a lifestyle choice, that no one has proven was illegal, and has not harmed them directly?   Isn't that exactly what we've been told not to do countless times?

So, you pay 50K to kill something and you expect that there is a chance that you will not get what you want? You also know you are hunting just outside a national park on private land with guides that gurantee you will kill a lion. Plus you are hunting with a crossbow and you are pretty darn close to your lion, yet you ignore that funny collar he wears - the radio collar. Yeah, it;s all on the up and up I'd say. Adds up to me...how about you? I'd ignore that collar and think what the heck, it must be natural.

I hunt, shoot guns and hunt with a bow. You nut jobs are trying to make it sound evil. As others have said you have no problem killing a defenseless baby but this is an issue with animals.
