I don't know how we got from Freedom to Farm & 5 yrs welfare  to tier 4 motors, but since you brought it up that little addition cost you all  are complaining about  is small price to pay for giving your grand & great grand kids genations  some good clean air to breath while payoff  all these govt programs and wars of the today borrow and spend generation.

History proves you are right. I have to agree with you. Most people who claim to want abortion stopped but, when they get into power they don't follow through. That is sad.

Good post, Don. And it's right on the money. What you could have also added, was no one making less than $250,000 has no business voting Republican. They are the elite of our country, the only thing that matters to them is your vote, to allow them to dictate to you, the peasants.

If the base is truly pro-life they would have been completely upset with the republican party not outlawing abortion.

A down right cozy excuse, I'm really surprised at your answer, too, I might add. Apparently the base aren't really serious about pro-life? Why then do the Republicans use it at election time? Sounds pretty disengenous, sounds like a really worthy bunch to me. It's nothing more than a gimick to stir up a frenzy of their mindless followers.

I'm sure Jim is genuinely against abortion, one wonders if the "real" conservatives are actually against abortion? Would the election of huckabee(for example) lead to a change of course? Why doesn't the liberal media point out the flaws in the platform of the conservative majority? How 'bout Beck, Limbaugh, Newt,? why don't they come to our rescue and the rescue of all the aborted babies in the U.S.?. Most repubs are just as phony as the dems.

The first thing George W Bush did as president was sign an executive order saying no tax dollars will be used for abortion. The first thing Obama did was resend that order. Under Obama care abortion is just another government funded medical procedure. The repubs passed other regulations such as parental notification and consent which were struck down in the courts.

How is bush signing an executive order banning govt funding of abortions any different than Obama signing an executive order banning govt funding of abortions --which he did in March of last year??  Another thing Obama did--

"In the final days of the prior administration, President Bush pushed through a rule designed to give health care workers the freedom to refuse to provide services deemed morally repugnant -- possibly including abortion counseling, birth control and sterilization."  Obama DID rescind this order.  As far as the "other stuff", you guys own the SC, didn't they stick up for your rights?
