Re: Liberals and Chest Pumping

Whats really hard for some is to claim the label and principles of conservatism  while milking the liberal cow of govt self enriching programs.

Re:why should the supreme court

ensure that we remain a capitalist country? The Supreme court is supposed to rule on constitutional law and it says nothing about capitalism in the constitution. Nor does it say anything about capitalism in the Bible. So I think you are treading on thin ice.

Your not telling me that you want  activist judges on the courts? You know the ones that rule as they see fit.

Are you trying to be funny, or to be a dolt? It gets harder and harder to tell these days.

The word "capitalism" isn't apt to be in either the Bible or in the US Constitution , since it was first coined approximately at the time of the American civil war.

Re: Dito For Me

Sales of firewood are taxfree, right? wink wink

Just saying that cause the most corrupt ex cop I know got into selling cash firewood, after retiring on a full pension.

But our system is still better than Mexico's.

I hope.

Re: Re:why should the supreme court

So does that mean that the republic can choose any form of government? Even socialism?

Those of you that worship at the altar of capitalism are wanting business to rule the country. Even to the point of giving corporations the rights of individuals. Where the corps can contribute what the want to any politician or party that will dance to their tune.

Corporations don't give a **bleep** about america. They want to exploit the markets here and abroad and they don't want to pay taxes or support our government. Neither do their stockholders.

Yet dimwited americans will support them in all endevours think that what is good for business is good for the USA.  Thus they let corps take their income off shore to avoid taxes. They give stockholder preferential tax rates. Those folks don't want to support the USof A. Why then should we give them any special status at all?

Re: Positive things to Ponder for 2011

What ever happen to Freedom to Farm Act  wasn't that end farm welfare.   Didn't last what 2 yrs before the crying got so loud that it was replaced with  bigger and better  "support" programs.

Hobby, freedom to farm won't off set what one repair job cost on a tier 4 engine.

what do you think will happen with the pre Tier 4 engines? will there be a danger that we have to replace them, or will they be grandfathered in for our lives?

Re: you keep dreamin'

Yes and it was done in 2006.  When bush was elected in 2000, one of the things his followers were demanding and what he agreed to to get their votes was a change in the abortion laws.  Shortly after that he had the Congress, the White House AND the SC.  All he had to do was get a bill though the Congress.  He didn't even attempt it.  The answer is NO, the repubs in charge don't want it to end.  PERIOD!!!
