Mate, I am sorry if I came across as if you attacked me, I did not mean that.

My relation with God is not between me and god because there is no relationship.  This is the type of statement how you attempt to make me feel guilty for not having a relationship. Why would you have said that when you know I have no belief in that regard?  Why is it prayer mumblers drive around with stickers on their cars telling the world they are christians? A little bit of advertising perhaps or maybe to make people think they are on the wrong track. What do you think?

Mary Magdalene was not JUST a follower, and you know it.  Don't ever believe of the thousands of people who supposedly followed Christ's  teachings weren't just as entitled to sit at the last supper with Christ.  Why was she chosen?  I think there is some of that same mythical rumours around to suggest old JC was having a bit on the side.  After all, he was just human eh?

Immaculate conceptions - I am well aware of how religion perceives the conception happened but we all know the truth.  It is an anatomical impossiblity for it to happen any other way and you know that so why go on spreading lies about it.  If you have kids you would be an expert like all other fathers.  The stain of original sin -  what is this? What bloody original sin? what a lot of crap. Define sin to me.  Where in my body does sin rest? Can it be seen on an x ray? To my knowledge science has not yet found a position in the body for a soul let alone original sin. 

I will never understand why intelligent people, educated correctly with outstanding degrees in many things will eventually fall for the god thing.  How can that be?  Why would they be smart enough to be doctors, lawyers, etc and then be frightened of the supernatural or something and devote their lives to being a follower of god when they know it does not exist.  It is a complete oxymoron.

Mary was conceived after a sexual relation between her mother and father. She was conceived without stain of original sin which is why Adam and Eve were driven from the garden of Eden. They disobeyed God. But God, in his infinite mercy promised them a Redeemer and a chance to reenter Paradise.

Hi Tom,

Glad I contributed to your amusement but actually I wince a bit when I read what I wrote.

I don't really want to make light of anyone's faith. Heaven knows, mainstream protestant denominations also have problems with sexual misconduct by clergy (although our leadership has been a lot more inclined to deal with it than the RCs hsitorically have).

It is interesting to me, though, that the aggressively activist supreme court majority (that was stealthily installed, in part, by agitation against 70s liberal activism from the bench)  that is moving an agenda to take away my constitutional rights is 100% Catholic.

Thank heavens for the jews, I guess, but they're outnumbered (one hispanic catholic on that team).

One of the darker skeletons in our national closet is the (most recent)  previous cyclical  eruption of nativism and xenophopia that erupted in the 20s and was, among other things, directed against Catholic immigrants and populated by my volk- descendants of the 1st wave of Protestant immigrants.If any on my direct ancestors were involved in that I'm not aware of it.

At this point, only real kook types will deny that it was shameful and today the RC church is now mainstream christianity in the US. All fine and good.

So it isn't that I think there is a conspiracy directed from Rome to put corporations in charge of the US government or to take away fourth amendment rights, etc.

What I do think happened was that abortion and other social issues became litmus tests for judicial approval so the first thing they would look for in the vetting process was a good catholic which is a lot less controversial than some of the really kooky social conservatives of the non-catholic type. From there they'd just cross check the field for careerist mediocrites who had positioned themselves for advancement via membership in the Federalist society. Give it 30 years and, voila', paydirt.

I have no intent of making you feel guilty. You belief or non belief of the Bible means nothing to me. I was just trying to explain original sin.

I said nothing about Adam and Eve's sex life. That was not their sin. Their sin was they disobeyed God.

I thought I explain the Immaculate Conception to you. The Immaculate Conception was not the Conception Of Jesus but the Conception of his Mother. Jesus, being perfect in every way, could not be born to a woman who had the stain of original sin. Mary was conceived in the womb of her mother, after sexual relations between her mother and father, but Her Conception was without the stain of original sin carried by all humans after Adam and Eve disobeyed God.

The secular writings at the time of Jesus never denied His existence, ministry, or His crucifiction. Many of them tried to explain away His Resurrection but no one ever produced His Body. My proof of God is the universe which He created when He said "let there be light." Science can not explain how everything was created from nothing.

You should really give up the fiction and read up on what science proposes in a number of theories.

The prime theory on the universe is NOT that it was created from nothing.

The 'Big Bang' theory proposes that the universe existed but in a more 'compact form'. This form was as I understand a hot gaseous form and then 13-14 Billion years ago it began to expand and cool.

The expansion is continuing to this day and science has many signs or evidence of this theory.

It is expected that the Hadron Collider which is just becoming operational will provide more info and evidence of how the universe expanded to its present state.

Read fact filled articles not fiction, it will help you understand the world around you.

I think if you put some study into it Canuck you'll find many religious principals are founded in natural principals.    Monogamy is hardly unique to humans, much of religion codifies species adaptations.

No, theories are based on facts and evidence. 

The theory of gravity can be seen (and felt) if you drop off something and fall to the ground.

You can not call a belief or an idea a theory until you have some background evidence and proof that it might be true.

Some theories need more info to completely understand them but all true theories do have evidence to bacl them up.

Remember science will seldom if ever claim something is absolutley true because a good scientists knows that tomorrow or next year new technology will allow new evidence to be available which could change some of the princilpes or direction of a theory.
