Re: Question for the masses
Slightly off the topic but it does seem that matters of exposure tend to regularly crop up with Taliban regimes. I wasn't aware that there weren't modestly laws on the books almost everywhere already. Even in Europe where there are topless beaches I don't believe it is permitted downtown.
Apparently somebody thinks it is a problem in Montana, though. While I'll bet you $20 that if the truth were known a lot of those guys are devoted porn wankers, at least they do it in the privacy of their own homes, for the most part.

Re: Question for the masses
No, and No. But some people become addicted and it affects their whole lives and society doesn't do much to encourage breaking the habit. And if you think modern porn is anything like "human nakedness", you need to go rent a movie. I don't see where it's an issue, just another strawman for you libs to squable about....isn't there anything more important happening in the world?

Re: Question for the masses
If nudity and sex was not such a forbidden topic in society there would not be a 'problem' with porn.
Many in todays society have no way to learn about sex as it is hidden in the general culture and forbidden to discuss in many groups as indicated by dress proscriptions by some groups.
So without even animals available in modern settings to see the sex act carried out many young are left to porn to learn how to do it.
Is that a good teaching medium?
But many are embarassed and complain about sex education in the schools while avoiding the topic with their own children.
So porn is the source of info for many except all those stories in the school yard told in hushed groups away from adults.

Either you're describing Muslims or you've just emerged from 1950.

Re: Question for the masses
"Probably more a matter of a cultural change that recognizes that watching contrived sex vignettes and spanking your frank is creepy. Because it is."
You live a sheltered life if you think that is the way things are going.
You guys don't get to pick and choose. You want a society were people cannot object to behavior they do not approve of, and then act all pious at society's degradation. Human societies have always maintained norms via social pressure. You want government to step in and eliminate social pressures, well what do you expect? Spanking the monkey is creepy, but 2 guys ramming it up each others bum is not?
No, you don't get to tell people what's creepy while telling them that by law they can't object to other peoples behavior.

Re: Question for the masses
funny story CanucK. One of my daughters when she was in the 1st grade drew a picture in crayon of a bull mounting a cow. It was an anatomically correct picture. Farm kids understand how these things work. Some of the kids in class started snickering and my daughter got in a bit of trouble and was asked not to do it again.
Meanwhile, a few years later, girls are going to third base in the bathrooms and the school administrators are affraid to say a thing. Such it is.
