Re: Rand Paul loses fight

Only source that I found that talked about the fight said it was motivated by politics. But I guess nutz is an expert in this area too.

Re: Rand Paul loses fight

At least 10 RW sources were reporting that within a half hour, as you would expect.

Rand has his virtues

in a very narrow sense. Along with a few liberal democrats he's a reliable vote on privacy, against military adventurism. Dad certainly had his moments as the only GOP vote against the Patriot Act and war authorizations.

But he is philosophically opposed to the power of government being used to protect you from the depredations of billionaires, banks, corporations- who are much, much more likely to victimize you than is government-and they are very active in convincing you that government is the real problem because it is the only thing big enough to thwart them.

The problems with Paulite libertarianism were fully revealed in the last election- the majority of the acolytes are from the neo-confederate fascist libertarian wing.

Re: Rand has his virtues

He was, BTW, as responsible for the failure of the ACA repeal efforts as McCain was but somehow avoids the wrath of the faithful by playing golf with Trumpsky and talking about freedom.

Re: Rand Paul loses fight

Just another loving tolerant progressive.

snip-

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) was assaulted at his Bowling Green, Ky., home on Friday and sustained minor injuries. According to police, Rene Boucher has been arrested for the assault. Boucher is a 59-year-old anesthesiologist who supports Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) on universal health care and has widely shared his fierce opposition to President Donald Trump.

Re: Rand Paul loses fight

It now sounds like more of a "libertarian" thing as apparently the two Dr.s had some shared lawn space between them in the gated community.

It would be a night mare to find yourself in that sort of arrangement with a self righteous "libertarian".

Re: Rand Paul loses fight

No it doesn't. It sounds like a progressive Bernie supporter who can't accept the results of an election.

Re: Rand Paul loses fight

Obviously, a very passionate man who never received the memo that all of this “hate Trump, all the time” rhetoric was just so much MSM/Hollywood boob bait for the bubbas.

No one was ever supposed to take it seriously, That is, it was never meant to encourage violence against one’s lawn mowing neighbors.

Rich or poor, prole or academic, educated or ignorant, indigenous urban people or non perpetual victim class, religious or Atheist, it matters not a bit. When crazy ideologues get a bur up their backsides, ugly and irrational things follow.
