GOP Platform
"It might have been interesting to see how he would have done if he had sat down with the party leadership, mapped out a platform"
A sensible, well-thought, GOP platform seems to have been lacking. GOP leadership didn't seem to allow Trump into the "inner fray" following the primaries, and though that was part of Trump's early attractiveness (destabilizing the establishment), the GOP also doesn't seem to have engineered (or Trump didn't allow) a cohesive final campaign. If Clinton wins, it is not because she won on her merits nor a winning Democratic Party platform, it is because of smear tactics, a lack of a meaningful GOP cohesiveness, Trump simply being Trump, and an uphill campaign against tall odds (Clinton machine, Democratic party, liberal media bias, huge Clinton donor support, and even the GOP itself). Trump is basically a third-party candidate that won the GOP ticket.
