Re: Real dangers to you

You missed this stat.

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2018/dec/13/us-gun-deaths-levels-cdc-2017

The CDC’s Wonder database shows that in 2017, 39,773 people in the US lost their lives at the point of a gun, marking the onward march of firearm fatalities in a country renowned for its lax approach to gun controls. When adjusted for age fluctuations, that represents a total of 12 deaths per 100,000 people – up from 10.1 in 2010 and the highest rate since 1996.

What that bare statistic represents in terms of human tragedy is most starkly reflected when set alongside those of other countries. According to a recent study from the Jama Network, it compares with rates of 0.2 deaths per 100,000 people in Japan, 0.3 in the UK, 0.9 in Germany and 2.1 in Canada.

Jama found that just six countries in the world are responsible for more than half of all 250,000 gun deaths a year around the globe. The US is among those six, together with Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Venezuela and Guatemala.

Re: when you play with statistic

stats I posted were for all gun deaths not just 'murder'.

Want to really understand how damaging guns are look at stats for suicide using a gun and compare that to other countries where they have realistic controls on guns.

I'll talk to you like you're stupid, since apparently you don't understand logic or scientific method.

If you want to prove x causes y, you have to show that in the absence of x, y is absent or significantly changed.   You want to argue that the existence of gun control laws cause the murder rate or suicide rate to be lower.   I've show you the facts that that statement is false.  FACTS.

All you can possibly say is that a gun is the preferred instrument, not that the suicide or murder would not have otherwise taken place.

Re: Real dangers to you

As stated, murders were 17284.  Your numbers are irrelevant to the safety of individuals.

You are more likely to die from the medical profession killing you or getting hit by a drunk driver than being killed with a gun.

Or you are more likely to kill yourself with drugs.  About 4 times more likely.

Doesn't matter. You're still a racist. Because only racist support the second amendment.
