Red State D Senators

given current polling, probably two of three key races- Donnelly, Nelson and Heitkamp need to win to beat the horrible math of this years' setup.

There's now some more current polling and they're all trailing, by a respective 2, 3 and 5.

My counsel is that they shouldn't even think for a minute that playing "me too" and voting for the SCOTUS nom will do any good.

With the possible exception of ND there are enough people in those states to turn out and make the difference if they're convinced of the stakes. I'd go out with all guns blazing.

Right from the D&S playbook.

Durbin and Schumer also think these 3 + Manchin should sacrifice their re-election and vote no on SCOTUS nomination.

Durbin & Schumer are in safe districts so their talk is cheap, however would Durbin & Schumer do the same if in that situation?

Answer:  Not just NO but ---- NO.

Re: Red State D Senators

There was a time in the not so distant past that a president was given his choice of SCOTUS picks.  Kagan received 63-37 approval and Sotomayor 68-31  and I don`t know how you get any liberaler than those two.  I remember at the time, I thought "whatever, they`re just justices and Obama can pick".  After those 2 got in and went about 'changing the country fundamentally" and not following the Constitution, a lot of us said "Hey, wait a minute!!!" .

Trump is replacing a Regan pick, so in the sane world it`ll be tough explaining in some circles for a senator that doesn`t approve Kavanaugh, he isn`t a "far out space nut", though I`m sure liberals are digging for any gum wrappers that may have been thrown out his window or a great great great grandfather that was a private under Nathan Bedford Forrest.   You guys will come up with "something" in time for the Sunday morning shows, no doubt.

Re: Red State D Senators

This guy clerked for Kennedy. Might be a wolf in sheep's clothing. Another John Roberts. Wouldn't it be something if the progressives block the most progressive pick Trump nominates. Trump might take him down and put the Catholic girl up there. Then we can watch the progressive's war on women.
