Replies on new format

Maybe I'm missing an instruction somewhere but it's tough to follow a thread once it gets some length to it. The indentations are gone and the posts stack up and it's cumbersome to figure out which post reply directly to which others.

Unless, as I said, I'm missing something. More gets over my head than in to it with each year of decline.

Re: Yep, Indents Are Not Effective

Yeah, I noticed that too.... It seems to indent for the first couple of replies then they stack up on top of each other.  The only way to figure out who is replying to whom, is to look at the time stamp.....If both posted at the same minute....who knows.

Not sure how to fix that one on our end.

Nope..... I was meaning how to fix or manipulate on OUR (us in the cheap seats) end.

That will probably be something for the Internet Techies to tackle.

With all of the recent rain, I guess I have had a bit more time to see what's "under the hood" in the new forum.   Like any new "toy", gotta play with it, ya know. Smiley Tongue

Noticed that too.

Not a lot different than the old one where they spread out below but it was hard to figure out who was being referanced when list got long.

Courtesy of poster (that's us) would help if we note who we are replying to. Can use subject line in this format.

Don't you just love change.

Yes, I agree.... and it would also help out a lot if we used the quote button and include the text of the message that we are replying to.... that way everyone won't have to click on the post ahead of it, and to remind ourselves what is being discussed.

Also, if we took the time to change the subject line to reflect the point of our post, that would also cue folks in what will be in the posted message, and they can decide whether to click on it, or not.

Another thing too, ..... the threads look like they will not stay on page one very long and will move to page two and beyond within a day or so..... so we will have to go back and check the pages further beyond to see if any interesting posts have slipped by us.

Re: Yep, Indents Are Not Effective

I believe it is an operator headspace and timing problem.  To my knowledge (which I am sure you can probably disprove) none of my replies to anyone are stacked up in line of each other.  It has always indented to the right of what I am replying to.

Re: Yep, Indents Are Not Effective

I just noticed that these threads are from MAY!!  Change pages and it goes to 151 instead of 1 or 2.  Guess I have to pay more attention.

Re: Yep, Indents Are Not Effective

mine is jumping to page 151 too, what's this?

I started a thread about the pages jumping to the oldest page on the Announcements and Forum Help section.

It has been doing it since yesterday morning.....something is screwy with the software.
