Republicans can't govern, because they don't know how government works

This website, explains what is wrong with the Republican frame of mind when it comes to government. They have been preaching to the choir, so long they don't know how to fix it.

Well the author thinks the national debt "isn`t a crisis" but he thinks it`s "$13.9 Trillion" ...what is he still living in 2011?  Last I checked, we`re approaching $20 Trillion.  But yes, all the government will have to do one day is mint 25 or 30 platinum coins that they claim is worth $1 Trillion each and give a few out to whoever we owe money and Pooof!  the national debt disappears, so I suppose it never really is a "crisis".  However, there would be repercussions in reneging on the nation`s obligations, there would be no return to Sunnybrook Farm after that.

The government isn`t "one person" it`s a combination of every idiot that votes, those in elected office like their cushy job and only think about getting re-elected, if their don`t bring home bacon to the idiots that vote for them, they lose their cushy job and will be replaced by someone that does bring home bacon.  And the bacon in one state is paid for by another state, who then gets their bacon paid for by still another state and in the end that`s alot of pork.

BA, That's what is refered to as a pig in a poke.

Bernie likes a pig in a poke because he is too lazy to look in the bag.

As a hippe he got kicked out of the commune because he was such a slacker.

The way I've come to understand it at the striking of that coinage it/ aren't given to anybody. They are simply put into the Treasury vault and drawn upon. Did you read the Huson article that nox linked?  Money created in that fashion is considerably more risk laden and degenerative than anything coined or printed to be put to some utilitarian purpose and circulation.

I didn`t get a chance to read Nox`s link, but it stands to reason that if any shenanigans such as "$1 trillion coins" were attempted the rest of the world would scream "Foul!!!" and the party would be over for the reserve status of the USD.  Something which the PTB will do anything including fight wars to defend.

The party would be over in the sense of living beyond our means and racking up IOUs to cover it, we`d probably end up on a gold standard out of necessity, which wouldn`t good for socialist programs.

You missed out by not having been born yet when that show was on.  it was quite transitional.

But as Yves says, it isn't a bug it's a feature.

In a few years when it finally becomes patently obvious that the radical Kansas experiment has been an economic failure, they'll say, too bad, at least we drowned the gubmint.

Which was always the real intent of the people who fund those candidates and the long game intellectual apparatus.

The notion that it will actually improve the circumstances of the vast majority of citizens is the furthest thing from their minds.
