Republicans join in overriding the Constitution

Let me point out several things.  In America you are innocent in the eyes of the law until proven guilty.  In America you have the right to face your accuser. In America you have security of your home and you have a right to privacy.  In America you have the right to keep and bear arms.

Red flag laws ignore all of these.

The notion or idea that a friend, neighbor or family member can feel threatened and have your guns taken from you without any court action and do so behind a curtain is dangerous and illegal.

Imagine if you will that we enact the same laws for driving a car.

This is a opportunity for abuse at a level never before seen in America.  Any Republican that supports such a law is a Democrat and is a danger to the country.

I believe currently that family and law enforcement can already accomplish the intended result.  But if they intend to create a law where an anonymous tips can result in action it would be very dangerous.  People like one of the posters here, who hates his neighbors and their coffee shop conversations would be turning in people potentally getting them killed, just cause he doesn't like them.

I'm against any red flag law.  Family can harbor ill will as easily as an anonymous neighbor.

Let's see if there is the same passion for a red flag law for drivers.  If somebody feels that a driver is dangerous because they are reckless or they suspect that they drink and drive or take drugs then let the police take not only their license but also their car.

And if somebody complains that other family members are affected by the loss of a car remember that the same is true when police confiscate your gun.  There is no longer any protection for the family if all their guns are confiscated.

There are 40,000 deaths each year from "accidents" in vehicles and a high percentage of them are drunk drivers as well as reckless drivers.  Getting these drivers off the roads would save thousands of lives.   Taking guns away will not have the same effect as suicide can be accomplished by other means and murder by statistics indicates that clubs and knives are effective.  Or though it seldom makes the news IED's will start to be used as they are in other countries.

How many of those were in the USA?

Of course in the US you do not have to go to the work and danger of building a bomb and then delivering it to a public place to kill. All you have to do is pick up an assault rifle and in 30 seconds you can kill just as many if not more than any bomb.

With any of this "red flag" laws or ban types of guns or magazine size, we all need to ask "would they have stopped any of the shootings?", I would say absolutely not.  There are so many guns out there that even if outlawed, there would be plenty black market available, drugs are outlawed and we don`t have a drug problem in this country, do we?

But the magazine size discussion, the +30rd magazine malfunctioning is a lot of times the thing that causes them to stop shooting. But there again 10s of millions of high cap magazines are already out there.

I still maintain that these shooters would pick up a 12ga pump Pheasant shotgun and a few boxes of 00 buck and probably result in more carnage than a scary 'assault rifle".

Democrats are demanding laws that actually wouldn`t have stopped the shooting...so the laws they`ll push through won`t predictably work ....so guess what? They`ll want more laws that won`t work until they come for your single shot .22.  All "Do something" feel good crap that is right up there with "thoughts and prayer".

Oh quit getting your undies in a bunch ladies....

nothing will come of this.

Moscow Mitch will sit on it and smother it out and daddy Chubs has a tendency to change his mind. Nothing happened after the false flag op in Sandyhook, it sure as heck won’t because of these latest ones.

Hopes and prays you`re right RG, but if "nothing happens" it`ll be no thanks to the damned Democrats.

So you want to get rid of all laws because some people break them?
