Sondland was kind of an idiot and contradicted himself in testimony -- said what Schiff wanted him to say, then admitted the opposite when cross-examined. Testified to hearsay and his own opinion. Serves at the discretion of the President and State Department. Likely no longer has credibility with the White House.
Vindman was not a "whistle-blower", so deserves no special protection. Testified to hearsay and opinion, mostly his own. A past supervising officer stated that he was an activist-soldier. Very likely a source of leaks from the NSC and/or White House, along with this twin brother. Admittedly counselled Ukraine on how to counter Trump's foreign policy. Admittedly broke chain-of-command in reporting concerns over Trump's phone call. Serves at the discretion of the President, his commander-in-chief. Obviously no longer has credibility with the White House. If all that happens to Vindman twins is that they lose their positions in the White House, they should consider themselves quite lucky -- hopefully, they are both also out of the NSC -- and militarily, they could be stripped of their rank, or more.
