I can recall a "few months ago" I suggested that Romney would be the winner in the GOP race. How am I looking? Who thinks it should be someone else? Where are all the tea party whingers? The pretty Bachmann didn't last long when the pressure came on. Newt is nothing but a crutch cannibal and who likes that in religious circles. Ron Paul should be retired and fishing on the Mississippi instead of taking the country back 30 years. He is about as relevant as the Astor TV.
Yeah you`re a real prognosticator there Gough, what`s next the sun rising in the east? Of course Mitt will win, unless he`s caught in bed with a dead woman or a live boy, that`s what the 0bama camp has been gambling on all along. I wanted to throw my support to Paul and or Bachmann and I did caucus for Paul, but we all knew it would turn out something like these, the people haven`t suffered enough to accept meaningful change, that day will come too soon. Mitt will have the expertease to kick the can further down the road, so we`ll be safe with him for another 4yrs, then my kids will be that much older and better to hunt squirrels for me Mitt has changed his positions, but that`s okay, he seems to be on the right track now and once you see the truth I don`t think you can ever really go back to socialism. We just need to elect a bunch more Republicans to give Mitt a backbone and git rid of this damned 0bamacare and keep my guns safe.
Yeah you`re a real prognosticator there Gough, what`s next the sun rising in the east - Well --- I remind you I did say it months ago when you were rooting for some trivial little pipsqeeks who mumbled the right things. I was definate then. How's you man going now?
so we`ll be safe with him for another 4yrs ------ How do you work that out? Just because he is a repig you fall into the false sense of security by having your tribe running the show. That clearly shows you do not have the bests interest of the US at heart. What do you think he will do about the wars? Will he reduce the debt immediately as all the his followers are hoping? Will he sack most of the public servants across the country? Will he reduce unemployment with the stroke of a pen? NO. he will do nothing of the sort but if thats what you want, go for it.
git rid of this damned 0bamacare and keep my guns --------- That's right, let the poor people die in the streets because they cannot embrace the capitalist system. You must be proud to see all those blacks starving in the ghettos. As for your guns, what do you expect to do with them. Or are they there to simply to keep your ego in tact. Your pathetic. You just don't get it.
This is the way us Republicans do it Gough, we squabble and fight for a few months, then we pick the most electable(barring 2008..McCain? I don`t know what they were thinking). All you Dems, just do me a favor and at least give Mitt Romney a chance, you owe the man that. As former Governor of Massachusetts he had some out of the box thinking on making healthcare affordable. His business wisdom turned around companies and he saved the Olympics from certain financial ruin. In a extremely liberal state of Massachusetts he was able to reach across the aisle and win over the opposition and get things done. Romney is a doer, you guys say you want compromise, well compromise a little and give Romney a chance. He WILL lower the deficit. He WILL put America back to work. He WILL bring back America`s great standing in the the world. Romney is the only Republican candidate that wants to affect "Fair" trade with China. Mitt is a genuine nice guy, when Perry had trouble remembering, it was Romney throwing him life lines of agency names to help him like "EPA?". Romney is one of the good ones.
Gough: "Ron Paul should be retired and fishing on the Mississippi instead of taking the country back 30 years."
I don't know Gough but I think many Americans would gladly settle for life 30 years ago compared to our current situation. School test scores were better. Our country's deficit was far far less. We had less soldiers stationed around the world angering other countries.
Me thinks if Ron Paul's name had a D behind it as opposed to an R then you would like him much more and agree with many of his beliefs.
Gough, who is just lke BA in that he's a quote machine of "conventional wisdoms" and media relfections throws a heck of a working staight line here dag. Very good point. If we could find Professor Peabody's "Wayback Machine" for a do-over, 1980 is where you'd have to set it.
30 years ago we were just a year and a half into the great supply side, voddo econmics of contracton, consolicdation, fianaced rather than capitalized if you were on the right side of things and totally extracted from in order TO FISCALly SUBSIDIZE THE EXTRACTORS if you were on the other, in a hell bent effort to eliminate the American middle class from participation in the capital phases of of the economy and create a debt enslaved multitude.
You seem to be saying that the values that existed in 1980 were good ones. I agree 100%. It was a high point in our history. Values forged through the workings of democracy coming out of the Great Depression and 2 great wars, and in reflection upon 2 not so great police actions that had been called "wars" only out of media habit, had the American people and American culture on a high speed course towards decency and fair play and improvement of our institutions. Which of course, if you were a war man or a capital consolidator you could not fathom. Not for a moment. In very short order someone was able to make the support of fascist tendencies a litmus test for every American's patriotism and loyalty.
So, yeah, if gough's semi-informed suggestion is right then 1980 would be the place to set the dial. And then go back there and keep on improving and progressing. Not get turned upside down like we did.
Aren't we already there or headed there? Housing bubble burst in 1982, check we've had that. Unemployment shooting higher and higher, check we've had that. The only thing left to wait for is inflation to kick in which will cause a rapid rise in interest rates. Oh, and yeah we all need to be prepared for the implosion of rural America. I think a lot of Americans today are faced with very similar situations to Americans back in the early 80's.
So what you`re saying Bruce, is that Gough and I think for ourselves and don`t read off the partyline script? See, what makes our opinions that are based on facts any less valuable the Kunstler, Denninger, Tyler Dunden, CAIR, Mondoweiss or any of the left`s cut and pastes. Johnaa is so hooked to a intravenous tube that he virtually has no orginal opinions of his own, he is totally reading off a script. One time I asked John his opinion of something and he blew a headgasket! See, obviously I was pulling him away from his teleprompter and forming his own idea didn`t compute...Don`t laugh Bruce, you are no better you are also scripted like a off-Broadway play. Don`t put so much crediblity in these Blog writers that tell you how to think, the truly great actors know when to ad lib and throw away the script. If you have facts to destroy someone`s argument by all means use them, it is hard though when someone comes along with honest facts and yet does not follow any written script. Cheers ♥
