Re: There just might be a Medal of Freedom....

How far could those Kansas farmers fly from last spring's fires.

But it was just an example of poor farm management---should have got scolding rather than socialist aid.

Re: There just might be a Medal of Freedom....

SaskTel, while pointing fingers, we will NOT forget the smoke we endured from the north of the border burning during about the same time frame...

and yes, locally, it was a TREE limb that blew into a power line that caused the fire...the trees had been trimmed back, but not ENOUGH to allow for

a flying branch in 50mph wind to be dreamed of, well, next time...just bare dirt, that should give the natives some time to clean up.

Re: And in California

Locally in SW Saskatchewan many times we have had to deploy fire trucks due to threats from south of the border due to burning of CRP lands.

Mind you, CRP was the brain child of that socialist Ronnie rotten Reagan so it was't the farmers fault!

In California at this time the most likely cause was a shorted transformer---and they had stronger than 50 mph winds driving the fire.

Guess we will have to get Trump to ask his saudi prince or putin what the cause was---they would never lie to him!

Re: And in California

CRP did get rid of several acres of poor acreage for crop production, which many just can't see the economics of getting it from

the expense column. It IS the farmers fault, one neighbor had his in CRP but he could make more with wheat, so got it out of CRP and

started growing wheat on it again...I actually helped harvest some of the "stuff" in a better year, and even if he said he was making money,

his book keeping wouldn't have worked for most. The only thing that crop ground did was give the next tenant a bigger acerage to pay cash

rent on.  Of course, another is had the land cash rented, saw what good farming and weather could do, took it back and started farming it himself,

has NOT gotten a break even crop with bushels in 3 years.

Ronnie Reagan had more going for him than the average Canadian.

Yep. CRP. Another socialist failure. Socialism always fails.

Re: Liars! Liars everywhere!!

(Liars! Liars everywhere!!)

Boy bruce, politico and the SNN nailed Trump there as raking could not possibly be part of "forest management" or "taking care of our forests" or "forest maintenance".  I guess the three of you have to stick to this DNC talking point.

Finnish President Sauli Niinisto reportedly said Sunday that he briefed President Trump on forest management earlier this month while the two discussed wildfires in California.

Finland President:  “I mentioned [to] him that Finland is a land covered by forests and we also have a good monitoring system and network,” Niinistö said, adding that he recalled telling Trump: “We take care of our forests.”

President Trump:  On Saturday, the president continued to emphasize the importance of working with environmental groups to improve forest maintenance, and pledged to “take care of the floors, you know, the floors of the forest.”

Someone forgot to do all that raking and things in Finland. With the major drought this year in Europe, large fires went through Finland and Lapland and other parts of Europe.
