Badgers are pretty viscious. There must be more to this story.

Re: See vid of kid catching Badger yet?

I've "scruffed" possums and raccoons, baby skunks, and untamed cats, but I would never try that on a badger, nor will I scruff an untamed adult cat ever again.

Maybe 20 years ago, was notilling beans in a field and planted around a badger hole. Dad's farm dog that I inherited (great farm dog, by the way, RIP) wouldn't leave it alone. Tried to keep an eye on it while continuing planting. Didn't see the dog actually get the badger, but did see the dog dragging it across the field later, thing was half the size of the dog. That was one bad-***** dog.

Re: See vid of kid catching Badger yet?

a month ago, my dog "Buck" took on a badger nearly his size. Must have  been the king of the badgers. My wife has it on video someplace, and it went on for a long time before the badger went away without getting it's throat slashed by "Buck"'s own jaws.

Our dog is a killer....brings back some of the kills to the front doorstep, but probably not all. The confirmed kills of rabbits, skunks, raccoons, rats, possums, squirrels, etc probably is near 100 or more.

I figure that one raccoon messing up a combine might be $20,000 or more so the dog earns his keep. Bad thing about him is that he thinks cats are bad, too.
