Sharing the wealth
SNIP
Faced with calls to share the oil industry’s 2022 windfall with the American people, Exxon CEO Darren Woods says he’s doing just that — in the form of a big dividend payout to shareholders. No really. I’m not kidding. “There has been discussion in the U.S. about our industry returning some of our profits directly to the American people,” says Exxon Chief Executive Officer Darren Woods. “That’s exactly what we’re doing in the form of our quarterly dividend.”
In case you live under a rock, shareholder dividends are not actually sent to the American people. They’re sent to the owners of Exxon, shareholders. So Exxon is sharing the wealth with the American people in the sense of making a lot of profits for Exxon and sharing it with the company’s owners.

Re: Sharing the wealth
Bruce, can't you purchase Exxon stock, too? It is one of the bright spots in my self-managed portfolio, along with Toro and some of the household goods stocks my wife wanted. She has a knack for picking the winners.
Or just turn over your stash to Karen, and see it multiply exponentially, right?

Re: Sharing the wealth
The molester in chief said he was going to put the oil companies out of business. Now we see how.
So under the molester in chief the oil companies have record profits. But they did not under Trump. Hummmmmm.

Re: Sharing the wealth
The hypocrisy knows no end.
Nobody is stopping them from drilling more except them.
Not, of course, that that’s the entire answer but it isn’t like anyone comes here in order to actually better understand anything better.

Re: Sharing the wealth
Funny how this wasn't a problem under Trump. And then we select a man who's claim to fame is he is going to put the oil industry out of business. Even promised to hold the CEOs responsible for any "climate crisis" and suddenly there is a shortage.

Re: Sharing the wealth
Actually, production collapsed under Trump.
Demand just hadn’t fully caught up by the time he lost.
