Re: Somebody, got hood-winked, and it wasn't the Democrats

Peter Schiff, seriously??????? Have you been following his predictions and forecasts BEFORE he ran for the Senate? He also proved Art Laffer to be wrong, but Laffer can do that all by himself, and has too.

This is the same guy that predicted gold to be at $5000 an oz. right now, and yes he was right about the housing crash....................but so were 3 carpenters that I know. He has the  art of self-promotion down to a tee.

Re: Somebody, got hood-winked, and it wasn't the Democrats

GTO, I have to laugh.  When Dems won in 06 and 08 it was the will of the people who had wised up to the actions of Bush and Repubs.   Now that Dems have gotten their butts kicked I keep hearing how the voters got hood winked or how stupid the voters were.  On last Friday's Bill Maher show, Maher and Lawence O'Donnell repeatedly made fun of Tea Partiers and Repubs telling viewers how dumb they were and joked how  they were red necks that lived in trailer houses.  I'm thinking that might have helped some folks decide to get out and vote to show those elitests a lesson.

Knapper, the Repubs only control the House while the Dems hold the Senate and the White House so it's hard to say Repubs are in power now.  You are right that it will be interesting to see what Repubs will do to cut spending now as the monkey is now on their backs.

Bart, Repubs have not been very willing to work together but neither have Dems. When Pelosi became speaker she promised to work together yet did not follow through on health care where the bill was wrote in committee with little to no input from other House members which is why she said we have to pass it to know what is in it.  Pelosi also refused to allow any ammendments to offer up on health care reform which is not what I would call willing to work together.  Dems made it clear it would be their way or the highway.   I don't think Dems thought they would be the ones headed down the highway.

Gold may still get to $5000. It would not surprise me if it does. This White House is on purpose devaluing the dollar. As the article says, if oil gets close to $150 per barrel, gas prices get to $4 again. This is scary stuff folks. And it is being done on purpose.

Re: Somebody, got hood-winked, and it wasn't the Democrats

There's a reason that the republicans claimed to repeal the Affordable Care Act, and it was to pander more fear to the already scared crowd for votes. Exit polling shows that 58% of seniors(age 65 and up) want to repeal the ACA, the same ones that are on Medicare.

We all know why the republicans won't say where and how much they are supposedly going to cut the budget, it's because it won't get by a veto, or republicans that supported the recent wave of anger won't like the cuts, or the more likely scenario, it was a follow up tactic to their fear mongering.

Remember, it is the REPUBLICANS that are in power, not Wehav, or BA Deere, of Milligan

I will have you know that all of the "Republicans" that you spoke of....all those in power in Washington and in the State of Iowa, know me, know me by name, most of them by my first name.

They know that they are on "probation".  They know that we mean business, and are the reason that they got re-elected or elected.  Just to show you that they know what the score is, I will paste here the email that Steve Scheffler sent out yesterday to all of the County Leaders in Iowa.  They know that they were booted out in '06 and '08 was because they acted like democrats, and the real democrats got booted out to make room for the New Conservatives and the Old Republicans that have now "seen the light".

November 2nd, 2010 is one for the history books!  I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your hard work and perseverance in helping to elect all our solid conservative Republican candidates.  Without your hard work and dedication, the victories yesterday would not have been possible.  And it certainly helped make our job a little easier, knowing that we had the best slate of candidates up and down the ballot ever!

On the national scene—Republicans picked up more U.S. House seats (at least 61 net at last count) than at any time since 1938—unbelievable!  We picked up several new U.S. Senate seats (now at 46 with seats still to be determined in Alaska, Colorado & Washington).  In addition, we picked up scores of new Republican governors.  And probably the most beneficial to our Party and conservative movement for the long term—is that Republicans picked up a minimum net of 21 new legislative chambers—wow!  What does this mean?  In many states having control of the Governorship and/or state legislative chambers means that that Party has the power to draw the new congressional and state legislative boundaries for the next 10 years.  I was informed through a RNC conference call today that after yesterday’s election results, Republicans are in the driver’s seat to draw lines favorable to us as a Party by a better than 3 to 1 margin.

My hat is off to all our newly elected Republican officials—from the U.S. Senate, to Governor, to our statewide Executive officials, to our Iowa Senate & Iowa House members, and to all our county elected officials.  Running for public office is not easy—they deserve our support and respect.  We picked up 14 to 15 net seats in the Iowa House and 5 to 6 net seats in the Iowa Senate.  And then—look over the newly elected ones—what an inspiring and fantastic group of committed individuals who are passionate about better government.

What does all this mean?  My analysis is that the American people do not by and large love either political party.  Let’s be honest with ourselves—there is still a wariness of the Republican brand.  The Socialist march of the Obama administration has awakened the sleeping giant—they are scared—they are angry—they are deeply concerned about the future for their kids and grandkids—they are concerned about preserving freedom and liberty.

Our Party has been blessed and privileged with a new lease on life—they are giving us a chance to prove ourselves—that we are up to challenge to fighting for the very soul of this great country and republic.  They want us to act on principle—they want us to fight for freedom—they want us to quit being part of the go-along, get-along political crowd—they want us to quit making political decisions based on political expediency.  Are we up to the task?  I believe we are!  Please—let’s give our Republican elected officials the morale support they will surely need as they engage in this great battle to save America!

Thanks Team,

WHOA there Mr mini-Boehner.....that ain't how it works. KNAPPER doesn't need to answer that. It's up to you and your party to make the proposals...right out in front of EVERY frickin' body...in the light of day. Let the Congress consider them and let the public, including and most improtantly the direct constituents and enthusiastic voters who put the new folks in and sancitifed the returning members. Forums and chat rooms and coffee shops all over the country can be coming to the conclusion that we need to eliminate or severly cut this or that or the other thing, but it takes legislation to do that and the GOP has got the ball.

There are a number of things I'd propose cutting serverely, straigh toff and I'd bet KNAPPER has a list too, but we ain't

got the monkey. The U.S. Congress does and everything starts in House Committees. And all we've seen what they are interested in first off...holding hearings on Faith Based Science.

Ron is "the bomb" on these matters, but Rand didn't get elected to work by his Dad's principles. If there would have been any inkling that he was the BTP in the GOP would have worked alot harder to deny him the nomination. They see Ron as a pariaah, and danged sure didn't want another one.

Rand Paul got elected because he knows the between the lines code of old Dixie desegregation and cultural anger. Shameless about it.   I really wonder what those 2 talk about at Thanksgiving and Christmas?

The Whitehouse isn't devaluing the dollar, you DA...the Federal Reserve Board is.

You are so into the "Obama did it" mode that you can't think straight.  It won't be long before ovre half of the country thinks that Obama issued the original torture order (that Bush approved), just as exit polling showed that 70% of voters indicated that they were of the understanding  that Obama signed TARP (Bush did).

Take a breath.

But you probably should. The MN House and Senate both rolled over, most unexpectedly. The re-Ddstricting happens next year. The reults of redistricting are always huge, highly political huge and last 10 years.

Do a google or some other search and take a look at the configuration of the District that Tom Delay represented in Texas. It's a classic example.

Rest assured that the new Republican majority here in Minnesota is working as we speak on trying to find a way to send TWO Michelle Bachmans to  Washingotn in 2012.

There are very few of us on this forum that truly understand the ramifications of this election at this point of time.

Contrary to Brian's thoughts.... Iowa matters very much, as that is where the presidential candidates are "hatched".  Iowa will be buzzing again within days with Republicans looking to replace the current occupant in 1600 Penn. Ave.   This will keep the GOP activists "jazzed" up and the "political machinery" well oiled during the normal "down time" between cycles.  This will keep us all focused on "whats next", instead of putting our feet up on the box and resting on our laurels.

I am already busy working up strategic plans with representatives and senators in Iowa as to how to deal with the opposition.....especially how to plan to "UN-elect" them.

OH.....Just as an aside, Michelle (Amble) Bachman was born in good old IOWA. *grins*
