Herd immunity, Baby!

Sorry you couldn't get them to Build That Wall.

Just wonderin' if Kristi still wants to pick a fight with the Lakota about keeping germ vectors off the res.

ICU  units plugged. And there are hospital beds in SD like hair on a dog.  A huge piece of the State’s economy.

Sending criticals to Colorado. I’m sure they appreciate the business.

Officially ND is worse.

But I’m not sure I believe it. ND is conservative but there’s a pretty high level of public propriety.

No lock downs or mandates and 330 deaths. Many of who would have died anyway.

Re: South Dakota Has Over A 37%

I saw some discussion, about the Sturgis rally, and what the real “Covid toll” of allowing it to happen is.   It may be have played a big part in why America is in the predicament it is now.

It is going to be a long, long winter.  Covid is here....and it didn’t go away (miraculously) in April, like some fool promised from his pulpit.  Do nothing, it’ll all be fine when those that deserve to die do - and then there’s way more for the rest of us.

Yeah....right.

Re: South Dakota Has Over A 37%: Watch Covid death rates

South Dakota’s current death rate/100,000 citizens (approximately 37/100,000) is still below the national average as well as below such places as Iowa, Minnesota, and Ohio. Needless to say, SD is well below places like New Jersey (172/100,000) and New York (160,000). See url.

Worth remembering, these numbers only refer to random Covid 19 deaths occurring within the general population. This means that anyone under the age of 60 and with no co-morbidities (e.g. diabetes, heart disease, cancer, HIV, COPD,  asthma, high blood pressure, obesity, etc) is in very little danger of dying from the disease. Ahhhh....if only to be 15 years younger right now!

So, what does it all mean? Remain cautious, wash your hands, practice social distancing when you can, but do remember to buckle your seat belts, stop smoking, exercise, eschew alcohol abuse, and consider dropping some weight if your BMI number suggests it might be wise to lose a few.

Otherwise, relax. This ain’t the 1918-1919 Spanish Flu epidemic by a long shot. Not even close. We are going to get through this.
