Re: Stephen Colbert testifying on immigration reform....
I actually give Obama more credit for cracking down on illegal immigrants then Congress or past presidents. Bush finally started to conduct more ICE raids at the end of his second term but Obama seems to be conducting just as many raids as Bush plus has continued to expand the Secure Communities program that finger prints all arrested and checks to see if they are legal citizens and works to deport those that are not. While Obama would probably like to tout this in the news and to Repubs I don't think Obama dares to promote this too loudly as it would likely upset some of his Democratic base.
Speaking of Colbert's testimony I see that Dem. House Majority Leader, Steny Hoyer seems to agree with me. Hoyer says he thought Colbert's testimony before a House subcommittee was inappropriate and embarrassing for both Colbert and the House.

I agree, what I heard of his 'speach' on radio sounded like an entertainment clip not an informative speach to help any committee make a decision.
Maybe the people listening just needed a break, a little entertainment for a while but I can not see how it would add any facts or background for any one to make a decision from.
Yep, "inappropriate and embarrassing".
Want to cut government expense?
Then that would have been a good way to cut out waste. Wonder what his little show actually cost the US taxpayers?
