Re: Sorry....Didn't finish connecting the dots
I have Medicare and Tricare for life. I have to see several specialists due to having had 3 different types of cancer. I pay the medicare premium. I don't know how much of that is subsidized but assume some of it is. I don't pay any premium for tricare out of my pocket. I paid for it with 27 years service to the country. None of my drs have told me that they won't see me anymore nor have any of them stated that they were quiting because of my insurance!

Because they don't want to accept the lower payment that Medicare agrees to pay. They could accept Medicare but require the patient to pay what Medicare doesn't. When I go to a lab to have blood drawn, I have to sign a statement stating that if Medicare doesn't cover the procedure, that I am responsible for it.

Re: Sorry....Didn't finish connecting the dots
Don't confuse medicaid with medicare or Obama care. Medicaid is purely charity health coverage for the poor. People that can't afford health care or insurance. Obama care is subsidized health insurance premiums for the uninsured and under paid. Medicare is government health care for the elderly. In most cases inelgible for private insurance.
Some doctors won't even take medicare patients. That is their perrogative as private businessmen. Others will be cause the elderly need for healthcare assures a steady clientele. Other think the poor need to be cared for. Others only consider their personal bottom line.
My endrocrinolistasked me if i ever saw a doctor in a bread line. He said they will be alright.
